Tennessee Highway Patrol to conduct Sobriety Checkpoint Decemer 28th, 2018

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPMontgomery County, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety roadside safety checkpoint on Friday, December 28th, 2018 on Highway 48 south of Hawkins Road in Montgomery County.

Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others, every year, in the United States. Troopers, deputies, and officers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol impairment. Troopers, deputies, and officers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed, while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recognize that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.

The checkpoints and saturation patrol are being funded, in part, by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
