The highest speed noted in the area was 65 mph.

To further ensure the safety of the construction workers in the area, CPD will continue its increased enforcement in the area.

Costs for citations for speeding in a construction zone can vary between $140.00 to $474.50, depending on whether the citation is written for city or state court, and has a point assessment on your license from 2-8 points. The construction area goes beyond the boundary of the city limits into the county, but CPD will only enforce the 35 mph speed within the city limits.
