APSU Men's BasketballBrentwood, TN – For the third time this season, Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s basketball player Terry Taylor has been named Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

2018-19 APSU Men's Basketball - Terry Taylor

Taylor, who shared the honor with Belmont’s Dylan Windler, led the Govs to a pair of crucial OVC wins last week to help Austin Peay pull into a tie atop the league.

He scored a game-high 18 points with eight rebounds against Tennessee Tech, scoring eight straight points early in the second half to help Austin Peay grow its lead to 20.

He was a beast against Jacksonville State, with a game-high 30 points—his 10th straight double-digit effort—and found Jabari McGhee to set up his three-point play with 21 seconds to play against the Gamecocks.

For the week, the Bowling Green native averaged 24.0 points on 56.3 percent shooting and pulled down 7.0 rebounds per contest to lead the Govs to victory.

This is Taylor’s third OVC Player of the Week honor this season, and the third of his career; he also brought home the November 19th and December 17th awards.

Taylor and the Govs are back in the Dunn Center this week to host SIU Edwardsville (February 7th) and Eastern Illinois (February 9th).
