Tennessee Department of AgricultureNashville, TN – Tennesseans interested in growing industrial hemp in 2019 have ten days remaining to submit required applications. The deadline to apply for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) industrial hemp grower license is 4:30pm CST, on February 15th, 2019.

Federal and state laws require Tennessee industrial hemp growers be licensed through TDA’s industrial hemp program.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports possible risk of severe storms Wednesday, February 6th and Wednesday night across Clarksville-Montgomery County and most of Middle Tennessee. The best chance for severe storms is around Clarksville, Dover and Erin.

The primary threat is damaging straight-line winds.

Rain and thunderstorms will become heavier and more widespread tonight and will last into Thursday evening before a strong cold frontal passage.

2.5 inches of rain expected around Clarksville-Montgomery County by Thursday evening. Some flooding possible.

Combs has spent the last 11 years as the utility’s right-of-way foreman, and a big part of that job is managing how trees interact — or better, how they don’t interact — with power lines.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) head football coach Mark Hudspeth has announced the addition of seven student-athletes during National Signing Day, Wednesday.

“Overall, we’ve got guys we think can develop at a very high level over the next few years, but also we’ve got some guys that we’ve recently signed that we feel like can come in and be impact players for us this year,” Hudspeth said. “We have the ability to build for the future, but also have added immediate help to areas right now.”

Clarksville Police Department releases 2018 Traffic Crash Statistics

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – In an effort to educate the public and promote safer driving habits, the Clarksville Police Department has compiled some statistics related to motor vehicle crashes for 2018 in the city limits of Clarksville.

The 2018 estimates for population within the city limits of Clarksville is approximately 153,000 and with inclusion of the county, pushes the population directly influencing traffic within city limits to about 200,000.

Clarksville Police Department reports that in 2018, there were 7220 crashes compared to 6684 in 2017, an increase of 536 crashes.
