APSU Basketball rolls over SIU Edwardsville 80-45

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – From wire to wire, Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s basketball team dominated in a convincing 80-45 victory against SIU Edwardsville in the Dunn Center.

The 35-point margin of victory was Austin Peay’s (17-7, 9-2 Ohio Valley Conference) largest against a league foe since 2007 and equaled the largest against any Division I opponent under head coach Matt Figger.

Nashville Predators win overtime thriller against the Dallas Stars 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – In what’s becoming quite the rivalry, the Nashville Predators held home ice tonight defeating the Dallas Stars in overtime, 3-2.  Ryan Johansen took a sweet feed from Viktor Arvidsson to net the game winner.

The two teams, who appear to be headed to a first round Stanley Cup playoff matchup have gone back and forth all season. 

Dallas beat the Predators last Saturday night in Smashville, 3-1.  The two teams have one more regular season matchup remaining.

APSU Women’s Basketball gets 77-65 home win over SIU Edwardsville

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team gained a little bit revenge over SIU Edwardsville, defeating them in wire-to-wire fashion, 77-65, Thursday night, at the Dunn Center.

The Governors (11-11, 6-5 OVC) allowed just 16 points in the first half, leading by double-digits for most of the game and thwarted off any comebacks from the Cougars (10-12, 5-6 OVC).

Clarksville Police are searching for runaway Tai Harrell

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are trying to locate a runaway juvenile, Tai Harrell, age 16, height 5’6, weight 100lbs, black hair, and brown eyes.

The juvenile was last seen in Clarksville on Monday, February 4th, 2019, but has not been heard from since then.

It is believed he is still in the local area.

APSU Softball kicks off season at UAB Tournament

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team will open its 2019 regular season, and 34th season overall, this weekend as it travels to Birmingham, Alabama, to participate in the UAB Tournament.

This weekend’s action also marks the first games played by the Governors under new head coach Kassie Stanfill, who was named the program’s 10th head coach in August 2018 after serving as an assistant coach at Louisville.
