On the men’s side Jacksonville State, the defending champions, picked up nine of 11 first-place votes to finish with a league-high 99 points.

SIU Edwardsville picked up one first-place vote and was picked second (85 points) while Eastern Kentucky picked up the other first-place votes and was predicted third (80 points).

Morehead State was picked fourth (76) and followed by Austin Peay (58), UT Martin (51), Belmont (48), Tennessee Tech (42), Murray State (34), Tennessee State (22) and Eastern Illinois (10).

Austin Peay head coach Robbie Wilson has plenty of weapons at his disposal to make this prediction look low by year’s end. Juniors Michael Busse, Austin Lancaster and Alex Vegh are veterans of the league at this point and have flashed potential to be the top player on a championship squad.

Sophomores Chase Korte and Garrett Whitfield have been lineup stalwarts from the first day they walked on campus, and now freshman Micah Knisley has emerged as another talented player capable of earning a spot in the lineup at any point, with Jay Fox, Sam Lopez and Jordan Rodriguez on board and pushing for a spot in the lineup.

The 2019 OVC Men’s Golf Championship will be held April 21st-23rd at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals, on the Fighting Joe Course.
