Clarksville Parks and Recreation now accepting registrations for Ball Leagues

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Is your child interested in playing baseball or softball this spring? The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer co-ed youth baseball and softball leagues for boys and girls ages 3 to 14.

Volunteer coaches will work with children to improve individual skills in throwing, catching, fielding and hitting while instilling the values of teamwork and sportsmanship in a non-competitive environment.

Recreation leagues include Blastball® (ages 3-4), T-ball (ages 5-6), Coach Pitch (ages 7-8), Softball (ages 7-10), Baseball (ages 9-14). Blastball® is a fun alternative to traditional T-ball and uses a “honking” base to entertain younger players, bringing excitement to learning the fundamentals.

Registration is available online at www.CityofClarksville.com/ParksRec

The fee is $40.00 per participant and includes a team shirt, hat and medal. Registration also is available in-person at the City’s recreation centers, as well as at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation main office, 102 Public Square. First-time registrants must provide the child’s birth certificate for age verification.

Beginning Monday, May 6th, each team will practice at least once a week. Practices are scheduled based on coach and facility availability. When games begin the week of Monday, June 3rd, teams will have one practice a week and one game a week. All games will be played at the Heritage Park Baseball Complex, 1241 Peachers Mill Road.

City youth leagues rely heavily on the generosity of parents and volunteers to provide coaching support. No experience is required and training will be provided. If interested, contact the Clarksville Parks and Recreation office.
