“This is a great opportunity for teens and young adults to jump start their search for summer jobs,” Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said. “The event is conveniently scheduled during Spring Break, when students will have some free time to meet with potential employers and start learning about internship and apprenticeship programs.”

A big component of the Mayor’s Summer Employment Initiative is getting employers involved in creating and offering jobs to young workers in the Clarksville-Montgomery County community.

“We are asking that employers commit to hiring our youth this summer,” Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett said. “This is an important step that helps our whole community start developing a pipeline of talent and instill a strong work ethic in our youth.”

Employers interested in participating in the job fair should call the Job Center at 931.648.5530.

Young job seekers are invited to register at www.jobs4tn.gov and attend the job fair. A full range of job-seeking assistance will be available.

For example, youngsters can:

  • Meet with hiring businesses.
  • Find employment opportunities.
  • Sign up for paid work experience, internships, and on-the-job training.
  • Gain tools for entrepreneurship.
