The meeting will be informal, and residents are invited to drop in at any time during the 90-minute session to get a look at the concept plans and discuss them with city officials.

The proposal calls for Whitfield Road to be widened from Tracy Lane to north of Needmore Road, and for intersection improvements at Whitfield and the 101st Parkway, and at Whitfield and Needmore Road.

“Traffic is heavy in this high-growth area of our City, and this section of Whitfield has seen a school, a church and major retail added in recent years. We are working to build a bigger, better road to meet the transportation needs in that neighborhood,” Mayor Joe Pitts said. “Residents should attend this meeting to learn about the City’s progress on this plan and get a look at the proposed design options for these road improvements.”

Citizens who attend the meeting will be able to view the preliminary road plans prepared by HDR, the consultants hired to design the project. Citizens will be invited to break into small groups led by Mayor Pitts, the consulting team and Clarksville Street Department staff to get a close look at design options, offer comments and ask questions.
