APSU Women's GolfSorrento, FL – Something about RedTail Golf Club seems to really agree with Reagan Greene. The Austin Peay State University senior women’s golfer, who was runner-up at RedTail as part of the Citrus Challenge last season, started out the 2019 edition of the event with a two-over 74; she, along with teammate Taylor Dedmen, sit in a tie for ninth through 18 holes, Sunday.

The Govs posted a 303 to open play as a team to sit fourth, one shot behind Keiser. Murray State (287) leads by 10 shots over Georgia State (297), with Dartmouth (306) also in the top-five.

Greene and Dedmen’s rounds mirrored one another; the freshman opened with an even-par 36 on the front nine, while Greene fired even-par on the back nine to equal Dedmen at the clubhouse.

Senior Taylor Goodley will look to push her way toward the top-10 over the next 36 holes after an opening-round 77 which tied her for 19th. In her first appearance in the lineup this spring, senior Ashton Goodley acquitted herself nicely as well, firing an opening-round 78.

Junior Meghann Stamps fired an 80 to close out the round for the Govs, but set herself up well for future rounds by sinking the two toughest birdies by a Gov on Sunday, on the par-4 No. 14 (average for the round: 4.35 strokes per hole) and par-4 No. 16 (average: 4.42 strokes).

The Govs are slated to tee off at 8:33am (CT), Monday; Austin Peay State University will be paired with Dartmouth and Cleveland State.
