The Govs will face competition from Ohio Valley Conference foes in Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech, not to mention the myriad programs large and small from around the area.

The two-day meet began with a limited run at 1:00pm, Friday, with a quartet of events, including the pole vault that saw sophomore Morgan Bradley make her season outdoor debut with a respectable 3.71m mark and a sixth-place, 11:07.07 3000m finish for Caroline Kiplagat, but the bulk of action commences Saturday at 9:00am.

At press time, little was available in terms of the events details; only Day One heatsheets had been made available prior to the abbreviated first day of competition. However, Austin Peay standouts Nia Gibbs-Francis, Tiyanna Johnson, Maya Perry-Grimes, Sabrina Richman, Amelia Thiesing, Tymeitha Tolbert, Lennex Walker and Kyra Wilder were among the scheduled competitors.

However, last season only the pole vaulters made the trek for this event—for all but Gibbs-Francis, Thiesing and Tolbert and the rest of the upper class scheduled to compete, this will be their first journey to Bowling Green.

Saturday’s event at Charles M. Ruter Track and Field Complex is open to the public.
