The 2019 Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate awaits the Govs, beginning Monday at Richland Country Club in Nashville.

Nashville Sounds fall to Iowa Cubs, 5-3

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Iowa Cubs outlasted the Nashville Sounds through a lengthy rain delay and came away with a 5-3 win in front of 8,572 fans at First Tennessee Park Sunday afternoon.

It was a 5-3 game in favor of Iowa when rain halted play after six innings. A one-hour, 56-minute delay followed. When play resumed Iowa relievers held Nashville off the scoreboard to secure the series win ahead of Monday’s finale.

Nashville jumped on the board early with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning after Richelson Pena’s 1-2-3 top half. Zack Granite singled to start the rally, swiped second base and eventually scored on Danny Santana’s RBI groundout.

163rd Military Police Company holds 2nd annual SWAT Challenge at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell, KY – The 163rd Military Police Company, 716th MP Battalion, 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) conducted its 2019 SWAT Challenge at Fort Campbell, March 15th, 2019.

The SWAT Challenge was a five-part competition that tested the physical, tactical, and technical capabilities of the Fort Campbell Special Reaction Team, Clarksville Police Department Team and Montgomery County Sheriffs Office Tactical Team.

Rory Kennedy (on rifle) and Charles Hunt (on spotting scope) work together March 15 to identify a target during the SWAT Challenge at Fort Campbell, Ky. Kennedy and Hunt are both law enforcement officers with the Montgomery County (Tenn.) Sheriff’s Office. Austin Peay State University students win Best Solo Hack, place Second overall at Regional Hackathon

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) senior Susan Kersten recently won “Best Solo Hack” at the CatHacks hackathon at the University of Kentucky, and her teammates won second place overall at the competition for hack that helps teach people sign language.

The wins add to the hackathon success Austin Peay students have had this year.

AAA says Motorists Already Considering Adding at least One Summer Road Trip If Gas Prices Remain Low

AAA’s latest Gas Price survey found that if gas prices remain low, 1 in 3 Americans (33 percent) would likely plan another summer road trip while 27 percent would increase the distance of one – with Generation X more likely to do both than Baby Boomers.

Health care professionals visit Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital to learn of opportunities in Army Medicine

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)Fort Campbell, KY – Health care professionals considering careers in the Army recently visited Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) and medical facilities on Fort Campbell to learn more about Army Medicine. The visit was part of a new initiative by recruiters at the U.S. Army Medical Recruiting Center Nashville to give interested health care professionals a first-hand look into the military health system.

The team visited Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s emergency center, primary care and specialty clinics to learn about the military health system’s delivery of care.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Around 4:57pm, Saturday, April 6th, Clarksville Police report a Honda Accord driven by a 43 year old male was making a left out of McDonald’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard to head north when he pulled out in front of a motorcycle ridden by a male in his 20s traveling southbound.

The motorcycle collided with the Honda.
