Blanchfield Army Community Hospital to conduct required training, some out-patient services affected

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH)Fort Campbell, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital will conduct annual required continuing medical education training for personnel Friday, April 19th, 2019 in conjunction with the Fort Campbell training holiday. BACH’s outpatient services, including outpatient pharmacies, will follow a holiday schedule. BACH Emergency Center, labor and delivery, inpatient services and supporting emergency services remain open 24/7 and will not be affected.

“The impact of our team using the post DONSA (Day of No Scheduled Activities) for staff training should be minimal as no outpatient appointments were scheduled that day. We ask our beneficiaries to anticipate a longer wait at the Town Center Pharmacy Friday as it will be the only BACH supported pharmacy operating that day,” said BACH commander Col. Anthony McQueen.

The Town Center Pharmacy will operate normal business hours, 8:00am to 6:00pm but all other pharmacies will be closed to include Screaming Eagle Medical Home Pharmacy, Byrd Pharmacy, LaPointe Pharmacy, Campbell Airfield Pharmacy and the Main hospital pharmacy. The Town Center will open normal Saturday hours April 20th.

Patient and Soldier-Centered Medical Homes including Air Assault Medical Home, Byrd Medical Home, Campbell Army Airfield Medical Home, Gold Medical Home, LaPointe Medical Home, Screaming Eagle Medical Home and Young Eagle Medical Home, and specialty services will be closed except for emergency x-ray, emergency laboratory and other ancillary services that are considered an emergency.

“An education day offered locally enables care teams to reduce the number of days out of the office, giving them more opportunity to manage the care of their patient population and saves the government money by significantly reducing travel expenses to send medical personnel to other training sites,” said McQueen. “This day of training will maximize the opportunity for clinicians and non-clinicians to obtain required educational credits and complete required trainings, enabling them to better support our daily mission.”

The hospital’s appointment line will be open to book appointments and refer patients to a TRICARE-approved urgent care center for individuals needing same day urgent care appointments. To contact BACH’s appointment line, call 270.798.4677 or 931.431.4677 from 6:00am until 4:30pm Monday – Friday. Patients may also book or cancel appointments through www.tricareonline.com 24/7.

With services from TRICARE® Online Patient Portal Secure Messaging at www.TOLSecureMessaging.com, patients can schedule web visits with their primary care manager, book appointments, request and review lab and test results, email your care team a question, request medication refills, or request a referral. To register for online services, visit your care team administrator.

BACH will resume normal operating hours for all medical services Monday, April 22nd.
