Clarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville and CDE Lightband presents Mic Check Monday at Downtown Commons this summer. Mic Check Monday is a new free concert series. Concerts will take place each Monday in June and July.
Concerts will begin at 6:00pm on Monday evenings when weather allows.
A performance schedule will be announced to the media and on www.visitclarksvilletn.com/music once selections are made.
“We are asking local bands to submit an online application by May 6th,” said Visit Clarksville Executive Director Theresa Harrington. “We’ll choose two or three from similar genres to perform each week and announce those in May. The generous sponsorship from CDE Lightband will enable us to provide a sound system, so our intention is that local folks can bring their instruments, plug in, and play. ”
No food or drink will be offered on-site. Guests may bring food, but no alcohol is allowed in the park.
“We know we have tons of local talent and hope to offer a variety of concerts over the two months,” said Harrington. “We hope to create a space where people of all ages can come, feel comfortable and enjoy music together – and if they support local businesses by enjoying a meal or doing a little shopping before the concert, then that’s even better.”
