TDOT announces Nashville Interstate Lane Closures for the Weekend of July 12th

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has scheduled weekend lane closures on I-24 westbound and I-40 westbound in Nashville for repairs on the Arlington Avenue bridge over I-40/I-24 during the weekend of July 12th, 2019.

The closures are as follows.

I-24 Closure under Arlington Bridge.

Friday, July 12 at 8:00pm through Monday, July 15 at 5:00am

  • Traffic on I-24 westbound south of downtown will be diverted to I-440 west (exit 53) and I-40 east to Briley Parkway (exit 52B). Through traffic is encouraged to use Briley Parkway to detour to I-24 west. Drivers headed to downtown Nashville should take I-440 to I-65.
  • I-40 westbound will be reduced to one lane at the Arlington Avenue bridge at mile marker 213.
  • I-40 eastbound and I-24 eastbound will not be impacted.

During the weekend lane closures, crews will be repairing a concrete beam on the bridge. The cost of the repair contract is $537,500.00
