Dear Friends,

The votes are in… and while we held a lead after the votes had been counted on election day, (Schlanger 203 – Gibbs 194) my opponent took the lead with the count from early voting. (Early voting ran July 14 – 29, 2006, Schlanger 130 – Gibbs 298) The final tally is Schlanger 337 – Gibbs 504.

Congratulations to Robert Gibbs and congratulations to all the candidates who won.

A huge thank you to all who have contributed your valuable time and resources. I am truly grateful for all the effort and energy so many of you have given to this campaign. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave unselfishly. I have learned from all of you and your encouragement keeps me going. Thank you to all those who donated money to this campaign, your investment began and continues to fuel the need for change in our community. And especially, thank you to my family, my wife and daughters, for all the sacrifices you have made during the past three months and your unconditional love and support. It has been an honor to work with all of you.

Earlier this year I made the decision to run for public office. As I stated then and still believe now, I truly believe we can improve the quality of life in Montgomery County for all citizens. I feel strongly that all of the issues raised during this campaign relate directly to our quality of life.

I have met so many amazing people during this campaign. In going door to door, I have listened to many stories about concerns we all share. So many people feel strongly about making changes to better our lives. I will not forget you.

As a citizen of Montgomery County, I will continue to work towards improving our quality of life, towards supporting our public schools, towards addressing the growth problems, towards promoting the arts and heritage in our area, towards ensuring people earn a livable wage, towards real tax relief for our senior citizens and towards protecting the environment. With your help, together we can make a difference.

Thank you, thank you, thank you,

Gregg

Dear friends,

Since my last email, I have attended the “Meet the Candidates” event at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library and the Clarksville NAACP Community Voter Mass Registration Drive & Rally. Both events gave me the opportunity to introduce myself. I really appreciate all those who came out to support me.

Saturday, June 17, 2006, 11am – 3pm

Plans are underway for our own voter registration drive this Saturday. We are targeting an area in District 5 that has low voter registration. I will setup my canopy in the parking area of the Quick Stop Market, 902 Greenwood Avenue. It is on the corner of Greenwood Avenue and Woodmont Boulevard. We will be giving away hotdogs and plan to canvass the area around the market. The purpose of this Saturday’s Voter Registration Drive is to activate the community of people who are not registered and to better inform them of the election process.

I hope to have at least twenty volunteers on Saturday. The plan is to focus on the people walking by to register at the canopy and also to go out in teams to canvass the area around the market in order to promote my campaign and register voters. I would welcome any other groups or organizations interested in providing resources and materials that introduce potential voters to the political process and to join with us. Help me spread the word and come to the Quick Stop Market this Saturday between 11 AM and 3 PM.

Please let me know if you can attend this event or have any questions or comments about it.

The financial support has been very generous. We have now printed a handbill with a bullet list of my positions on specific issues. I plan on getting yard signs printed in the next couple of weeks. Any amount you might be able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. You can make campaign contribution on-line through PayPal at http://greggschlanger.com/contribute.html. Or you can make checks out to and mail them to: Schlanger Campaign Fund, 710 Perkins Ave., Clarksville, TN 37040.

The website is being updated daily. Please visit the site again to see what is new. http://www.greggschlanger.com

Please email or call me if you have any questions or ideas about how to improve Montgomery County. I look forward to seeing you this Saturday. Please forward this message on to others you think might be interested.

YOUR SUPPORT AND VOTE on August 3rd WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Thank you for your support. Together, we can make a difference.
