2012 Clarksville Academy vs Montgomery Central Cunningham, TN – Clarksville Academy Cougars beat the Montgomery Central Indians 47-7 Saturday afternoon at Montgomery Central’s Phillip J. Horsey Field in the “Battle of the River” game.

“We worked very hard in the off season. We’ve very proud of our effort. Kids executed real well,” state Clarksville Academy head coach Todd Hood. “To lose so many kids from last year’s team. We lost 9 on offense, about 6 on defense and some out of state players. So to come back and play like this on our first game, I’m very proud of our effort.”

The Final Horne: DeSean Jackson is good, but is he the best wide out in the NFL?

The Final Horne: with James D. HorneClarksville, TN – The NFL is moving more and more to being a passing league, so having a great group of wide receivers is a must.

But there’s always one who’s the Alpha-Male, the Silver Back, the go-to guy.

He’s the one the quarterback goes to make a big play even when two or three defensive backs are draped over him. He’s the one the defenses game plan for and yet he still beats them for 10 receptions for 150 yards and two touchdowns. «Read the rest of this article»

The Final Horne: LeBron James finally won one and just may be a prophet

The Final Horne: with James D. HorneClarksville, TN – LeBron James didn’t take steroids.

He didn’t kill any dogs, or people, for that matter.

Come to think of it, I don’t think he’s ever been featured on TMZ, Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight for anything scandalous. His mom has, for an allege affair she had with one of his teammates and some say that was the ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’ in terms of him making ‘The Decision” to leave.

The Final Horne: Cam Newton can’t be the best quarterback in the NFL?

The Final Horne: with James D. HorneClarksville, TN – Cam Newton dazzled the National Football League in his rookie year, but did that make him the best quarterback in the NFL. There’s so many ways to distinguish quarterbacks.

You can compare them by the passer rating (both the NFL’s and ESPN’s), by passing yards, by touchdowns, by fourth quarter comebacks, by wins or by Super Bowl championships or the lack thereof. «Read the rest of this article»

The Final Horne: with James D. The Final Horne: Excited by last day of Premier League Soccer, no really!

The Final Horne with James D. HorneClarksville, TN – I really can’t tell you much about the history of English Soccer, Spanish Soccer and really for American Soccer for that matter.

I know that internationally we’re OK, but we’re more like a perennial playoff team than a championship contender and that’s OK.

I  know that ManU or Manchester United is considered the most popular soccer team in the world and thus the most hated. But I also know that Real Madrid is pretty god as is FC Barcelona. «Read the rest of this article»
