Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, November 5th from 9:00am – 12:00pm there will be a Yard Sale to support the Children of the BWC 5 at FMAC located at 602 South Riverside Drive. The BWC 5 refers to the 5 members of the Bikers Who Care who died in a tragic accident after this year’s Bikers Who Care Toy Run.

If you would like to donate any items for the sale contact Michelle Greenfield at 931.237.7559 or Traci Austin 931.216.4738. They will make arrangements to pick up and store your donations until time for the sale

Treva Gordon to direct “Stand”, a youth production

The Young Daughters of Destiny in conjunction with the Convient Shopper Magazine are putting on a production of Stand at the Roxy Regional Theatre on August 6th 2011 at 5:00pm. The show will be directed by Treva Gordon and features a youth cast with kids from ages 5 to 25 playing the parts. The play deals deals with various crisis that the kids may face in their own lives such as:Teen Preganacy, Bullying, Suicide, and includes an important message for parents, “Why don’t you listen to me.”

The show is free however donations to the Young Daughters of Destiny are being encouraged. This is a play that you don’t want to miss.

A portion of the proceeds go to the Suicide Prevention Conference that is scheduled for September 17th, 2011.

Save a Youth Concert

Clarksville, TN – The Young Daughters of Destiny Youth Crisis Organization Presents “Save a Youth Concert” featuring rising recording Gospel artist Toney Dabney from Hopkinsville, KY. MC for the event is Clarksville’s very own Johnathan Peters of Number 7.

Opening performer’s will be: Greater Missionary Baptist Church Step Team “Chosen Vessels”, Rising Recording Hispanic Gospel Artist “Sonimar Santos”, Rising Recording Gospel Group “Undivided”, plus many surprise guests.

The concert is July 15th, 2011 at 7:00pm. It will be held at the Unity Gym located at 1800 Memorial Drive Clarksville, TN.

Clarksville, TN – The Young Daughters of Destiny organization is looking for great talent for Open Mic Night June 10th,2011 at 7:00pm at the Unity Christian Academy Gym (1800 Memorial Dr) behind the Westgate Christian center Church”.Registration will be June 6,2011 at UCA gym at 6pm or call Ms. Rita Ewing at 931-801-9319. All talent is welcome. All proceeds go to The Youth Suicide Awareness Conference to be held on September 17th, 2011.

Young Daughters of Destiny “Bowling with the Stars”

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 21st, 2011, the Young Daughters of Destiny held their 1st annual “Bowling with the Stars” at Skyline Lanes. This was a charitable event with the proceeds going to the Youth Teen Conference that will be held September 17th, 2011. The event will be held yearly.

YDOD would like to thank the eveyrone who came out and supported this great event. I know our Youth had a great time.

YDOD would like to give a special thanks to our star, “Trixy” the Clarksville Fox-Women’s football teams mascot.

The winners of the 1st Annual Bowling with the Stars were:

1st Place - Fabian Merriweather
2nd Place - Walt Telfer

But in the Young Daughters of Destiny eyes, everyone was a winner because there is never a loser.

About the Young Daughters of Destiny

The Young Daughters of Destiny were formed in 2009 by Reverend Rita Ewing to provide assistance to young ladies who are battling with or have experienced depression, mistreatment, or have suicidal thoughts or a broken spirit. They hold quarterly rallies and seminars leading up to an annual gala concert. This is their second year, and they have found that raising awareness of teenage suicide is more important than ever. Teenage suicides have struck the Montgomery County community on numerous occasions, and in 2009 teenage suicide became a reality in the lives of several local families. The Young Daughters of Destiny are on a crusade to eliminate youth suicides in the Clarksville community. The organization is one of the only non-profit groups in the community that openly discusses suicide and suicide prevention methods.
