Clarksville, TN – Saturtday night the Red River Sirens and the Bowling Green Hot Broads Roller Derby teams took over the Magic Wheels Skate Center in a heated bout.
The Sirens dominated the first half as they led the Hot Broads the entire half. The ladies put on a great show for everyone.

Clarksville, TN – Saturday evening Tyler Marrapese took on a new look as he donated his hair which he has not cut in just over 10 years. Tyler who had gone on Channel 4 news last week to challenge others to join him in his donation to support the Locks of Love.
Tylers step-father Danny Farmer Jr has agreed that when he cut his hair, he to would shave his head in support for Tyler.
In front of a huge crowd at Appleton Harley Davidson, both sat in the chair and had their hair cut.

Clarksville, TN - On Saturday August 27th 10 year old Tyler Marrapese will be donating 16 to 18 inches of his hair to the Locks of Love charity. His hair has never been cut before. Tyler wants to challenge anyone to come out and get their hair cut with him to support the Locks of Love.
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Fort Campbell, KY – Saturday 216 more soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team arrived home to Fort Campbell after several flight delays. Family members were equally excited to see the plane as it approached Campbell Army Airfield and decended on the runway.
With lots of cheers, tears, waving signs and banners, the year long deployment to Afghanistan as come to an end for these soldiers.
As solders deplaned, the were greeted at the foot of the stairs by Col. Jenkins and Col. Hickman along with the Honor Guard.

Clarksville, TN – While a Clarksville Police Officer was stopped to assist a motorist on Fort Campbell Boulevard in front of Walmart, a pickup truck plowed into the rear end of his parked police car. The officer was out of the vehicle and was not injured.

Fort Campbell, KY – It was a joyful day at Campbell Army Airfield as 538 soldiers with the 4th Brigade Combat Team arrived home after a year long deployment to Afghanistan. As they stepped off the plane, they were greeted by The Secretary of the Army, John McHugh along with Major General John F. Campbell and others.
Friends and family members packed hanger 3 for the arrival of their soldier. As the 15 minute notice was given many made their way out to watch the plane arrive.

Fort Campbell, KY – Shortly after a beautify sunrise Wednesday morning, 273 soldiers with the 4th Brigade Combat Team and the 49 EOD arrived back to Campbell Army Airfield.
A huge crowd of friends and family gathered inside the hanger then made their way out to the tarmac to watch the plane as it descended upon the airfield once the 15 minute notice was given.

Fort Campbell, KY – Early Sunday morning just before 2:00am the airplane carrying 270 soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team landed safely at Campbell Army Airfield. Not even the wee early morning hours would keep friends and family including the children away.

Clarksville, TN – Heritage Bank on Madison Street has set up a Banks 4 Barks donation drive to help gather needed supplies for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society.
Donations will be accepted July 11th to July 30th during normal banking hours.
