Tennessee State GovernmentNashville, TN – Wednesday, March 6th, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee issued an executive order to establish the Tennessee Criminal Justice Investment Task Force as promised during his State of the State address on Monday evening.

The sixth executive order issued under his leadership comes after Governor Lee outlined comprehensive plans to address public safety in Tennessee amid higher rates of violent crime and recidivism.

Trump Administration Backs Marsha Blackburn’s Bill to Protect the Unborn

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – The Trump administration has announced the decision to issue a rule prohibiting the use of federal funds from going to abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, under Title X of the Public Health Service Act.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services rule accomplishes the same goal as S. 105, the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, the first bill Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn) introduced in the United States Senate.

Senator Marsha Blackburn announces Tennessee will be part of New National Broadband Project

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) announced Tennessee will be one of eight states included in a new National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) project to expand and update the National Broadband Map.

As the Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Communications & Technology, Blackburn led the effort to fund this project at NTIA as part of her ongoing efforts to improve broadband availability for rural communities across the country.

I am thrilled to announce we will open our new Nashville office on March 1st.  The address will be 3322 West End Avenue, Suite 610, Nashville TN 37203.  It will be the sixth and final office we open in Tennessee. 

The opening of the Nashville office will complete our in-state set-up. We are the first of the freshmen U.S. Senate offices to have all of our state offices up and running.  Since being sworn in on January 3rd, we have been working each and every day to serve Tennesseans across the state.

Judge Tim Barnes, juvenile court judge with General Sessions jurisdiction in Montgomery County, administered the oath to Pitts, who then swore in three new City Council members and one incumbent member.
