The Home of the Screaming Eagles" width="132" height="184" />The monthly remembrance ceremony honoring soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at McAuliffe Hall.</p>
<p>These remembrance ceremonies are held to honor division Soldiers deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and those who have died in the effort.<span id="more-15398"></span></p>
<p>The ceremony will begin with the invocation, a scripture reading and the commander&#8217;s remarks. Candle lighting will precede the reading of names of fallen soldiers from the previous month and a moment of silence.  The ceremony will conclude with Retreat, when the flag will be lowered then raised to half-staff.  In honor of the division soldiers who have died, a rendition of Taps will be played followed by the closing benediction.</p>
<p>A private reception for family members and affected units will follow at Cole Park Commons.</p>
<p>These ceremonies are not memorial ceremonies for fallen soldiers. Those will continue to take place in the theatre of operations by the unit as is standard procedure.</p>
<p>The ceremonies are open to any soldiers, families and members of the surrounding Fort Campbell community who wish to attend.</p>

<li><strong>Tuesday, 7 a.m.</strong>, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 101st Sust. Bde., approximately 200 soldiers. HHC 101st SB has been on a 12-month deployment to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. 326th Engineering Battalion has been on a 15-month deployment to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 101st DSTB is on a 15-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.</li>

<h3><span style="color: #008000;"><em><strong>Changes of command</strong></em></span></h3>
<p>Over the next several months various 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) brigade and subordinate units will be conducting changes of command.</p>

The Home of the Screaming Eagles" width="132" height="184" />Col. Dominic J. Caraccilo will relinquish command of the  101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) to Col. Viet X. Luong during a change of command ceremony Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at 10 a.m. in hanger three at Campbell Army Airfield.</p>
<p>Caraccilo assumed command of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (187th Infantry Regiment) in November 2006 and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Prior to commanding 3rd Brigade he held several positions within the 101st Airborne Division. He served as the Division&#8217;s operations officer for transformation and the deployment to the Multi-National Division-North, Iraq. Caraccilo will be the Executive Officer to the Commander of Multi-National Forces-Iraq.<span id="more-15090"></span>Luong has served as Deputy G-3 (operations), XVIII Airborne Corps (Rear) since February 2008. He has commanded several units, most recently 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. Luong started his military career upon receiving a regular Army commission after graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in bio-chemistry along with a Masters of military arts and science. Military training and education include Airborne School, Ranger School, the Infantry Officer Basic and Advance Courses, Command and General Staff College, and Joint Forces Staff College. He is accompanied by his wife Kimberly and their three children.</p>
