City of Clarksville announces Improvements coming to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Bypass intersections

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Improvements are moving forward for several intersections on State Route 76/Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway/U.S. Highway 41A Bypass — the popular southernmost route connecting Interstate 24 at Exit 11 and downtown Clarksville — while study continues on another intersection along the route.

Vehicles move through the Vaughn Road intersection on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway on a recent morning. The state Department of Transportation and the Clarksville Street Department have announced plans to install traffic signals and turning lanes at the intersection in the coming months.

Clarksville Police respond to Pedestrian stuck on Highway 41A South Bypass

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville TN –  Clarksville Police were dispatched to a pedestrian-involved collision at 8:31am Saturday morning, December 5th, 2015 on the Highway 41A South Bypass (Ashland City Road) near Queen’s Bluff Way.

Witnesses said a pedestrian running through traffic caused a collision between two vehicles when a driver had to swerve to miss him. A short time later, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle down the street from the first incident.

American Red Cross seeks blood donations in the Clarksville area this holiday season

 

Be part of something meaningful by giving blood

American Red CrossNashville, TN – The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to end the year with real meaning by donating blood for hospital patients in need.

Holiday activities, severe weather and seasonal illnesses, like the flu, can pull people away from their regular blood donation schedules. This creates a greater need for blood donations this time of year, especially around the winter holidays.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Gas and Water Construction Work Closes Lanes

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed lanes on Harper Road, U.S. Highway 41A Bypass and Cedar Court for utility line maintenance work.

Approximately 100 feet of the southbound lane on Harper Road will be closed for natural gas main line work until 3:30pm.

Clarksville Police reports 41A Bypass closed due to Vehicle Crash

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is currently working a Fatality Vehicle Crash at the 41 A By Pass and Glendale Drive. No information is available on the crash at this time other than it involves a Gasoline Truck.

The 41 A By Pass will be closed until further notice and no idea on when we will be able to open the road. This is going to have a major effect on Traffic this evening.

Once again the Bypass is closed between Vista Lane to Edmondson Ferry Road. Commuters will be detoured this evening on their way home so please take an alternate route.

Clarksville Gas and Water reschedules Ashland City Road/41A Bypass Lane Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has rescheduled today’s Ashland City Road/US Highway 41A Bypass lane closure to tonight at 11:00pm.

Construction crews will close the northbound lane of Ashland City Road/US Highway 41A Bypass from Riverwood Place to the intersection of Cumberland Drive and Riverside Drive for water main line maintenance.

The work is anticipated to be finished and the lane reopened by approximately 2:00am Thursday, November 13th, 2014.
