Fort Campbell, KY – The 4th Brigade Combat Team on Thursday held a color casing ceremony marking the transition of the unit to a wartime footing as they prepare to once again deploy to Afghanistan. In November 2012, the Currahees received the news that they would be deploying to Regional Command East (RC-East) this spring, where they will continue to provide training and mentoring to Afghan security forces.
The Brigade and Regimental colors were cased during the ceremony on Thursday and will remain furled until the unit’s command completes its transition to Afghanistan where the colors will be unfurled to fly in combat.

Fort Campbell’s 4th Brigade Combat Team recognizes new Distinguished and Honorary Members of the Regiment

Fort Campbell, KY – For 71 years the soldiers of the 506th Infantry Regiment part of the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Currahees), have been giving their all in defense of our nation. Their ranks have produced many tales of bravery and distinguished service.
Some of the soldiers who served with distinction were honored on April 11th during the Regiment’s yearly Distinguished and Honorary Members of the Regiment Recognition Ceremony which is held before the active duty soldiers of the 4th Brigade Combat team.

Fort Campbell, KY – On December 14th, 2012, U.S. Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division went on a motivational run with food in each hand.
The food will be donated to The Backdoor Boutique, and non-profit company that gives various items to Soldiers in need year round at Fort Campbell, KY.

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers with 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, conducted walk-and-shoot training exercises September 28th to October 4th, 2012 as part of the Eagle Flight III field exercise at Fort Campbell, KY.
“The purpose of the walk-and-shoots is to train company, battery and troop level leadership on how to better integrate indirect fire support assets whether it be mortars, artillery, [close combat aircraft] and close air support with direct fire systems in a maneuver setting such as movement to contact or an attack,” said Maj. John Montgomery, the battalion operations officer with 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Bde., 101st Abn. Div.

Fort Campbell’s 4th Brigade Combat Team “Currahees” prepare for Eagle Flight III

 Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, started a transition point in their training as elements of 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, “White Currahee”, began rehearsals for the brigade’s upcoming Eagle Flight III, a company level walk-and-shoot, on August 28th, 2012 at Son Drop Zone, Fort Campbell, KY.
Eagle Flight III consists of seven training evolutions with a walk-and-shoot rehearsal at the Son Drop Zone being the first event.
 Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment and 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, conduct walk-and-shoot rehearsals on Son Drop Zone, Aug. 28, 2012 at Fort Campbell, Ky.
