College Street to be closed from 8th to 9th Street

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Gas and Water construction crews will close all lanes of College Street on Thursday evening at 7:00pm to 4:00am on Friday from 8th Street to 9th Street for water service line replacement work.

Motorists will be detoured to Marion Street and 9th Street.

College Street Road Closure Planned

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – A Gas and Water construction crew will close College Street from 7th Street to 8th Street tomorrow evening starting at 7:00pm to replace water service lines. Traffic will be detoured to Main Street and 9th Street. Work is expected to be complete and the road reopened at 4:00am Thursday morning.

Motorists should approach the work site with caution.

Man Shot in Area of Kellogg Street and Farris Drive

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN - On May 6th, 2011, around 2:07pm, officers responded to the 300 Block of 8th Street in reference to a man that had been shot. When officers arrived they found a 35 year old man that had been shot sitting on a curb.

According to witness accounts, they saw the victim running in the area of Kellogg Street and Farris Drive and then saw another man exit a white Mazda pickup truck and start shooting at the 35 year old man. There were multiple handgun rounds fired at the victim.

Five Car Crash on Kraft Street

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On 4-28-11 around 9:00am, one car set off a chain of events which resulted in a five vehicle crash. A bus in the southbound lane of Kraft Street was stopped waiting to make a left turn onto 8th Street.

A Dodge Charger was stopped behind the bus and a Nissan Frontier was preparing to stop behind the Dodge. A Hyundai, driven by Jason Meeks, was traveling southbound on Kraft Street and collided with the rear end of the Nissan pushing it forward into the Dodge.

Queen City Road Race Road Closures

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville and Austin Peay State University’s campus will be subject to traffic control on race day — May 1st from 12:15pm until approximately 2:30pm for the event.

The following streets on the campus will be affected for the 5K Races: Marion Street, Drane Street, Farris Drive, Robb Avenue, 8th Street, Henry Street and Hannum Street. In downtown, the following streets will be affected: North 2nd Street, Main Street, Public Square, Franklin Street, 1st Street from Franklin to Commerce Street, Commerce Street from 1st to 3rd Streets, 3rd Street to Franklin Street, University Avenue from Franklin Street to College Street, and College Street to 8th Street.  «Read the rest of this article»

Road Conditions in Clarksville

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Travel on the roads is difficult in many areas.  Many of the roads are backed up and gridlocked especially in areas with any sort of incline.  The traffic is backed up at the Red River Bridge and traveling up Boot Hill causing travel delays. 

The patrol officers are responding to calls for service as quickly as they can, but the road conditions, vehicles disabled and accidents means call will have to be prioritized possibly causing delays on routine calls.

Between 10:00am-4:00pm, 61 non-injury accidents, 11-Injury accidents, and 5 hit and runs.

Construction crews will continue natural gas pipe inspection on College Street.

Motorists may pass using the inside lane.

Clarksville Gas and WaterClarksville, TN – Gas and Water construction crews will close the outer southbound lane of College Street from 8th Street to University Avenue from 9:00am to approximately 3:00pm on Tuesday, December 7th. Gas crews will be inspecting a six-inch gas main line along this section of College Street.

Motorists may pass using the inside lane.
