Nashville Predators to pick Fourth in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft June 30th

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators, represented by President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile, took part in the 2013 Scotiabank NHL Draft Lottery on Monday night, retaining the fourth overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.
The 2013 Draft marks just the second time in franchise history the Predators will select in the Top Five. They took David Legwand with the second overall selection with their first-ever pick in 1998. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators are currently tied for the eighth spot in the Western Division to make the play-offs, tied with the San Jose Sharks with 34 points. The Phoenix Coyotes are currently going nowhere at 30 points, so if the Predators are going to return to the post-season, Thursday night’s points should stay in “Smashville.”
The two teams wrap up their three-game 2012-13 season series on Thursday at Bridgestone Arena with both teams having won a home game to this point.

Nashville Predators stick it to St. Louis Blues 6-1
St. Louis, MO – The Nashville Predators came out hard and fast putting up 3 goals in the first period against the St. Louis Blues. Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne makes key saves down the line to keep the Blues in check which helped the Predators to a 6-1 win at the Scottrade Center.

Nashville Predators lose 4-3 in shootout against St. Louis Blues Monday night
Nashville, TN – St. Louis goaltender Brian Elliott stopped the Nashville Predators twice in the shootout to give the Blues a 4-3 win Monday night in front of a sell out crowd at Bridgestone Arena.

Nashville Predators’s David Poile one of three Finalists named for NHL General Manager of the Year Award

New York, NY – David Poile of the Nashville Predators, Doug Armstrong of the St. Louis Blues and Dale Tallon of the Florida Panthers are the three finalists for the 2011-12 NHL General Manager of the Year Award, the National Hockey League announced today.
Voting for this award was conducted among the 30 Club General Managers and a panel of NHL executives, print and broadcast media. The winner will be announced Wednesday, June 20th, during the 2012 NHL Awards from Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. These teams last met on January 31st, in both teams returned from the All-Star Break. Minnesota jumped out to a 3-0 lead through the first 21 minutes of the game, before Matt Halischuk cut the Wild lead to two. Detroit, MI – Friday night, the Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings close out their season series at Joe Louis Arena. Detroit leads the season series 3-2, but Nashville has taken three of its last six trips to Detroit dating back to April 3rd, 2010.
In Detroit’s final trip to the Music City on March 10th, the Kostitsyn brothers stole the show as the Predators edged the Wings, 3-2. Andrei Kostitsyn notched two power-play goals on the night, including the game-winner at 4:34 of the final frame. Both of his goals were set up by Sergei Kostitsyn and David Legwand – who posted three helpers on the night.
