Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forward Matt Cullen to a two-year, $7 million contract. He will be paid $3 million in 2013-14 and $4 million in 2014-15.
Cullen, 36 (11/2/76), posted 27 points (7g-20a) in 42 games with the Minnesota Wild in 2012-13, in addition to ranking among the League leaders in face-off efficiency (53.2 percent) for the third consecutive season and won more draws than he lost for the ninth consecutive season.
Newark, NJ – With the fourth selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the Nashville Predators selected defenseman Seth Jones from the Portland Winterhawks on Sunday afternoon at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
At 6-4, 206-pounds, Jones is an excellent puck-moving defenseman who uses his size, physical play, speed and hockey sense to play a solid defensive game while also creating offense from the blueline.
Nashville Predators vs. Calgary Flames

Calgary, Alberta – The Nashville Predators and Calgary Flames meet for the first of three games in a 39-day span on Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Predators will host the Flames in six days on March 21st, and again on April 23rd.
A season ago, the Predators claimed three of four games against the Flames, including each of the last two meetings – both at Bridgestone Arena.
Nashville Predators 1, San Jose Sharks 2
San Jose, CA – The Nashville Predators get out shot 39-19 in 2-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks Saturday night at the HP Pavilion. San Jose, who had been struggling with power-plays of late, scored both goals with the man advantage. This was the Sharks first win over the Predators this season.
The Predators have now lost two in a row having lost Wednesday night to the Anaheim Ducks 5-1. Nashville ranks last in goals with just 2.05 per game.
Anaheim, CA – The Anaheim Ducks came out fast scoring two goals Wednesday night before the Nashville Predators got off their first shot. The Ducks went on to beat the Predators 5-1 at the Honda Center.
It was Anaheim’s seventh straight win at home.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that forward Brian McGrattan has cleared waivers and been assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).
McGrattan, 31 (9/2/81), went scoreless and posted four penalty minutes during a two-week conditioning stint with Milwaukee from February 15th-24th.

The Predators are coming off of a thrilling, action packed, over-time thriller vs. the Dallas Stars on Monday night at the Bridgestone Arena, 5-4.
Roman Josi posted the first four-point outing (2g-2a) of his career on Monday night, as he beat Christopher Nilstorp 28 seconds into overtime to give the Predators the 5-4 win over Dallas. He posted the Predators second goal of the game and added assists on back-to-back goals for Nashville.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators over-came a two goal deficit to beat the Dallas Stars 5-4 at the Bridgestone Arena in front of another sold-out crowd. It was Roman Josi who scored his second goal of the night just seconds into the extra period for the win.
The winner helped the Nashville Predators end a two-game losing streak as the Predators played their 10th overtime game of the season.
