Austin Peay State University hosting final Basketball Promotions

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University students and fans are invited to take advantage of multiple promotions at the Govs and Lady Govs final home basketball games, to include free t-shirts, free food for students and discounted tickets for APSU alumni.

When the Lady Govs host Belmont, 7:00pm, Wednesday, the first 300 Austin Peay students can take part in free food available on the Dunn Center second floor. It also is the final night of the Greek Challenge with the grand prize of $500.00 going to the Greek Organization with the highest percentage in attendance. Sigma Phi Epsilon has captured the single-game prize at the each of the first three Greek Challenge nights.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball lose in overtime to Liberty Flames 79-73 at ESPN BracketBusters

 

Austin Peay State University GovernorsLynchburg, VA – Overtime and Austin Peay State University basketball just don’t mix.

After Travis Betran’s long three pointer tied the game and the Govs defense denied Liberty at regulation’s end, the Governors year-long free-throw shooting woes caught up with them in overtime as Liberty held off APSU, 79-73, in the ESPN Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters contest at the Vines Center.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsRichmond, KY – Eastern Kentucky buried nine first-half three pointers and in the process ended Austin Peay State University’s hopes of an Ohio Valley Conference as the Colonels rolled to a 91-53 victory, Wednesday night, at McBrayer Arena.

Austin Peay Athlete of the Week Anthony Campbell

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Senior Anthony Campbell, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Campbell earned his first career Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors for his performance in last week’s road trip, helping the Govs secure two victories. With a pair of 20-point performances over the weekend, Campbell has broken the 20-point barrier nine times in 2012-13.

APSU Governors’ Anthony Campbell named OVC Player of Week; Chris Horton earns 8th OVC Freshman of the Week

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceClarksville, TN – Senior forward Anthony Campbell, who scored more than 20 points in each of Austin Peay State University’s road victories this weekend, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

Meanwhile, teammate Chris Horton, who recorded double-doubles in each of the Governors road wins while also becoming APSU’s single-season blocked shots record holder, has been named OVC Freshman of the Week for the eighth time.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsEdwardsville, IL – Their Austin Peay State University teammates made sure Anthony Campbell and Will Triggs return home was a winning one.

Campbell and Triggs were among four Governors who scored in double figures, Saturday night, as APSU downed Southern Illinois Edwardsville, 83-71, in Ohio Valley Conference action played at the Vadalabene Center.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball defeat Eastern Illinois Panters 71-64 to get first road win of the season

 

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Basketball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsCharleston, IL – Anthony Campbell scored 24 points, including four second-half three pointers, and Chris Horton recorded a double-double as Austin Peay State University held off Eastern Illinois, 71-64, Thursday night in Ohio Valley Conference basketball action in Lantz Arena.

The victory snapped an eight-game losing streak and put the Govs at 6-20 overall and 2-10 in the OVC. It also was the Governors first road win this season.
