Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s basketball coach Carrie Daniels has added Savannah Foister, of Clarksville, to the 2014-15 squad.

Foister, a 5-10 guard/forward, played four seasons at Todd County Central High School where she averaged 8.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game as a senior.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsIndianapolis, IN – Nine Austin Peay State University athletics programs increased or maintained their academic success, according to the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rates (APR) released Wednesday.

Every Division I sports team calculates its APR each academic year, based on the eligibility, graduation and retention of each scholarship student-athlete. Teams scoring below certain thresholds can face consequences, such as practice restrictions and restrictions on postseason competition.

Assane Diop (ah-san jop), a 6-8, 230-pound forward who hails from Dakar, Senegal, and played junior college basketball at Cloud Community College in Concordia, Kansas, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at APSU.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsMemphis, TN – Austin Peay State University head basketball coach Dave Loos was inducted into the Christian Brothers Athletics Hall of Fame, Saturday, in a ceremony at the University’s Alfonso Dining Hall.

APSU’s longtime head coach was one of eight former great CBU athletics figures to be honored plus two teams of distinction.

Loos began his college coaching career at CBU, as a basketball assistant coach and head baseball coach in overseeing both the basketball and baseball teams for four years each.

March Madness Ends With Clash of the Titans: I would guess most who read the above title assumed I was referring to the showdown of Kentucky vs. Uconn for the NCAA Men’s Tournament Championship. After all, it has been a wild tournament and the storylines for these two teams have sports writers drooling like Victoria Secret came out with a new line of lingerie with the colors and logo of pro sports teams.
