Austin Peay State University Football Spring Practice begins Today

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Spring practices for the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team begin Thursday, March 14th at Fortera Stadium.

Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 5:30pm, and Saturdays at 10:00am. The Red and White Spring Game will be held Saturday, April 6th at 11:00am. More Spring Game details will be announced at a later date.

APSU breaks ground on new Baseball Clubhouse

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Last month, Austin Peay State University (APSU) hosted a groundbreaking for the new APSU Baseball Clubhouse at Raymond C. Hand Park. Special recognition was given to lead supporters Doug and Linda Downey and Joe and Cathi Maynard for their generous contributions to the Baseball Facility Improvement Fund.

Several years ago, Joe and Cathi Maynard moved with their family to Montgomery County. As co-owners of ECHO Power Engineering, LLC, Joe and his business partner decided to form a 10-year partnership with APSU to give back to their new community.

APSU Governors Red Coat Society to induct Joe Maynard, Cathi Maynard, Ron Morton

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – The Governors Club, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics booster club, has announced that Joe and Cathi Maynard and Ron Morton will be inducted into the Governors Club Red Coat Society.

Joe and Cathi Maynard will be recognized at halftime of the men’s basketball game against UT Martin that evening. Ron Morton will be recognized at a later date.

Joe and Cathi Maynard are recent members of the Austin Peay family, but they have quickly become two of the Governors biggest supporters.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On a mild November evening, Sidney Brown, 87, stood along the sidelines at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium. He wore a blue blazer, which sagged from all the medals pinned above the left pocket, and a ball cap for the 555th Parachute Infantry, the U.S. Army’s famed all-black airborne unit.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, in conjunction with Altra Federal Credit Union, will present their annual Hoops For Heroes Spaghetti Dinner, 7:00pm, Friday, February 8th, 2019 at the Echo Power Club Level at Fortera Stadium.

Come join the athletics department and help send U.S. Army veteran Albert Wiley—a retired Special Forces operative who served 25 years and completed six combat tours in Iraq and four in Afghanistan—along with his family to the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Tournament in Evansville, Indiana.

Instant Peay Play: Return to classes means ASPU Spring Sports are around the corner

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With Austin Peay State University (APSU) students returning to class this week it not means the end of the Christmas break but the return of spring sports soon for the Governors.

While men’s and women’s basketball and the indoor track and field teams are still hot and heavy into their own schedules, soon to underway for the Govs will be baseball, Tennis and golf on the men’s side, while beach volleyball, golf, tennis, softball and outdoor track and field will kick-off their respective schedules over the next few weeks.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – The Mark Hudspeth Era for Austin Peay State University (APSU) football will begin with a change to the seating in Fortera Stadium for the Governors six-game home schedule in 2019.

Athletic department officials have announced the Red Zone, which will house all general admission seating on the east side of Fortera Stadium, in Sections J-P.
