Clarksville’s 37th Annual Queen City Road Race set for this Saturday, May 2nd

 

37th Annual Queen City Road RaceClarksville, TN – The 37th Annual Queen City Road Race, scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, is quickly approaching and there is still time to register!

Registration can be completed in person or online. Online registration can be completed at www.cityofclarksville.com/qcrr and is available until noon on Friday, May 1st.

Participants registering in person may come by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Office at 102 Public Square, Clarksville, Tennessee, 37040 through Friday, May 1st or register onsite at Austin Peay’s Governors Stadium the morning of Saturday, May 2nd.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Queen City Road Race Early Bird Registration Discount deadline approaches

 

37th Annual Queen City Road RaceClarksville, TN – The 37th Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, have you reserved your spot at the finish line? If not, you’d better act quickly to be eligible for the discounted rate of $20.00 for the 5K and 7K races.

The Early Bird discounted registration deadline is April 17th. Registration will be available through race day, however prices increase to $25.00 for the 5K and 7K races. The non-competitive One Mile Movement will remain at a $5.00 registration fee now through race day.

Registration for the Queen City Road Race is simple and may be completed online or in person. Online registration can be completed by visiting www.cityofclarksville.com/qcrr and is available onsite at 102 Public Square.

Austin Peay State University’s Revamped Tailgate Plaza opens Saturday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Fans who’ve enjoyed Tailgate Alley the last few years might be wondering what the Governors Stadium renovation may mean for their favorite spot to meet and eat with fellow Austin Peay supporters prior to the game.

Fear not, for Austin Peay athletics is offering a new place to gather, grill and toss a football before heading into Governors Stadium. It starts at the newly configured Tailgate Plaza, which offers tailgate reservations for student and alumni organizations, as well as campus departments and affiliates in The Gilroy Tailgate Zone.

Austin Peay State University Growth rate brings need for Crosswalks, APSU Physical Plant finds Solar Solution

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Most people don’t think in terms of solar power when it comes to campus traffic issues, but APSU Physical Plant Director, Tom Hutchins was thinking solar was a perfect solution to remedy a growing traffic related issue around campus — pedestrian safety.

As the campus has grown, nearly doubling in size during the last decade, and the paths people took from classroom to classroom changed, so did the places where pedestrians cross streets.

However, it was just two months ago the Governors were preparing for its Toronto exhibition series. Now they will be back on the floor officially, 5:00pm, Friday, in the Foy Center when practice begins for the 2012-13 season.
