Austin Peay Governors Golf ready to open “Spring” slate in dual competition against Dayton

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Golf
Clarksville, TN – With low 40 degree temperatures expected to greet it, Austin Peay State University men’s golf team will open the 2013 “Spring” schedule when it plays host to Dayton, 9:00am, Friday, in a dual scrimmage at the Links at Novadell.

Austin Peay Governors Golf team picked second in OVC preseason poll
Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team has been picked to finish second at the Ohio Valley Conference Golf tournament that will be played in late April. That was announced Wednesday as a result of a preseason vote of league coaches.
The Governors received three of the 11 first-place votes, finishing with a total of 91 points, four behind defending OVC tourney champ Jacksonville State, which received the other eight first-place votes.

Clarksville, TN – Senior Emily Perkins, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Perkins scored both game-winning goals in Austin Peay’s victories at Morehead State and against Eastern Kentucky last week, helping the Lady Govs clinch a first-round bye in this week’s Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, hosted by UT Martin.

Clarksville, TN – Junior Haylee Shoaff, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Shoaff shutout Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State over the weekend, amassing 11 total saves and helping the Lady Govs clinch a berth in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament for the first time since 2010. Her efforts netted her second career OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honor, her first of 2012, and CollegeSportsMadness.com’s OVC Player of the Week honor.

Austin Peay Governors Golf repeats as Champions at 2012 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Golf
Hopkinsville, KY – Gusts of wind blew through the Links at Novadell, Tuesday, but couldn’t knock Austin Peay State University men’s golf team off stride. The Govs fired a final-round 285 to repeat as champion of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, becoming the first team to repeat as champion since the tournament moved to a three-round format.
