APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Rain and soggy conditions have caused Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to postpone its scheduled Saturday contest against Morehead State.

The Governors and Eagles now will play a 1:00pm, Sunday series finale at Raymond C. Hand Park.

APSU Baseball gets 3-1 home win over Morehead State

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team junior starter Josh Rye took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and  the Governors notched a come-from-behind 3-1 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Morehead State, Friday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park.

The opener turned into a bona fide pitcher’s duel through six innings as Rye and Morehead State starter Aaron Leasher put plenty of zeroes on the board. Rye held the advantage in the duel as he kept the Eagles hitless through 5.1 innings.

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – After playing nine of its last 12 on the road, Austin Peay’s baseball team returns to Raymond C. Hand Park to kick off a four-game homestand with a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against Morehead State.

The league set is scheduled to begin with a Friday doubleheader; first pitch for Game One is slated for noon.

APSU BaseballBowling Green, KY – Austin Peay State University’s baseball junior starting pitcher John Sparks set the tone with four scoreless innings and the Governors notched a 7-3 nonconference victory against Western Kentucky, Wednesday night at Nick Denes Field.

Austin Peay (17-18) supplied Sparks early run support, using three doubles and a single to plate two runs in the second inning.

APSU Baseball holds off Eastern Kentucky for 14-10 win

APSU BaseballRichmond, KY – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team designated hitter Malcolm Tipler had a home run and a career-high six RBI and led the Governors to a 14-6 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Eastern Kentucky, Saturday afternoon at Earle Combs Stadium.

Tipler helped wake up the Austin Peay (16-18, 8-10 OVC) bats in the third inning. Center fielder Imani Willis doubled and second baseman Garrett Giovannelli singled to start the frame, setting up Tipler.

APSU BaseballRichmond, KY – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team first baseman Dre Gleason had three hits and four RBI but the Governors fell in 13 innings, 7-6, to Eastern Kentucky in Ohio Valley Conference action, Friday night at Earle Combs Stadium.

Austin Peay (15-18, 7-10 OVC) got out to a quick lead in Friday’s contest. Second baseman Garrett Giovannelli and third baseman Alex Robles each walked in front of Gleason, who hit a three-run home run to cap a three-run first inning.
