Austin Peay State University Governors Football add two, lose two for fall

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University football has some additions and deletions from its roster for Fall 2014.

Joining the team will be a local recruit, Jule Pace, a 6-1, 249-pound defensive end from West Creek High School, and 6-2, 190-pound quarterback Darrien Boone, a Chicago native who is transferring to APSU from Central Michigan. Boone, who redshirted in 2013, will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.

APSU Governors Football game vs. Murray State Racers to be broadcast from New Governors Stadium on ESPN3

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football home game with Murray State, 6:00pm, Saturday, October 18th, will be part of the Ohio Valley Conference “Game of the Week” package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall.

It will be the first game broadcast from New Governors Stadium on a national platform.

OVC announces first two games of “Game of the Week” broadcast on ESPN3

 

Ohio Valley Conference - OVCBrentwood, TN - On Tuesday the OVC revealed the first two games that are part of the league’s eight-game football “Game of the Week” package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall.

The package will kickoff on Saturday, September 20th when UT Martin hosts Eastern Kentucky at 12:00pm CT. The second game of the package will take place on Saturday, October 4th and will be a “Wildcard” selection which will be announced roughly 12 days before the contest.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Calling all Governors Football Alumni! Austin Peay State University Athletics, in conjunction with Alumni Relations, has announced its 2014 Governors Football Alumni Reunion will coincide with the opening of New Governors Stadium.

The New Governors Stadium weekend will commence with a golf outing, Thursday, September 11th and conclude with a reception following the Governors’ September 13th game against Chattanooga.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer will be among the celebrity readers at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Wednesday, June 25th for a child-centered event to highlight the Montgomery County Imagination Library.

Brandon Jordan, who played for Cannon at Missouri S&T and then served as graduate assistant a year ago, has been hired as defensive line coach while Leron Eaddy, who followed Cannon to Clarksville from Central Michigan to play his final football season, will be the program’s defensive back coach.

APSU Athletics names Russell their official Uniform, Apparel Outfitter

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – For the first time in its athletics history, Austin Peay State University has an official uniform and apparel outfitter of its athletic teams.

APSU announced Wednesday it has reached a tentative five-year agreement with Russell Brands, LLC, parent company of the Russell Athletic® brand. APSU athletes and teams will use Russell Athletic® apparel, accessories and other items through 2019.

“Russell Athletic couldn’t be happier to partner with such a tremendous university like Austin Peay State University,” Russell Athletic Senior Vice President General Manager Robby Davis said. “We look forward to being able to showcase Austin Peay athletes in the best that Russell Athletic has to offer.”
