Austin Peay State University announces NCAA Academic Progress Rates

Clarksville, TN - Eight Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics teams increased or maintained their academic success, according to the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rates (APR) released Tuesday.
Every Division I sports team calculates its APR each academic year, based on the eligibility, graduation and retention of each scholarship student-athlete. Teams scoring below certain thresholds can face consequences, such as practice restrictions and restrictions on postseason competition.

APSU Golf signs international prospect
Clarksville, TN – Coming off the best season in school history, Austin Peay State University men’s golf team has added a top international prospect for the 2013-14 season.
Erik Hedberg Bertrand, a Barcelona, Spain native who had 15 local championships in addition to Top 10 finishes in a pair of prestigious international events over the last two-plus seasons, has signed a national letter of intent to play golf with the Governors.

Woodstock, GA – Austin Peay State University’s Dustin Korte finished his final round at the 2013 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship May 30th, at the Capital City Club Crabtree facility, with back-to-back birdies to card a two-over 72 for the second straight day.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf Team’s Dustin Korte named to PING Southeast All-Region team
Alpharetta, GA – Austin Peay State University senior Dustin Korte has been named to the Division I Ping Southeast All-Region team as chosen by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Korte was one of 26 players to earn Southeast All-Region honors, with a total of 155 Division I golfers earning such distinction in six districts.

APSU Golf’s Dustin Korte struggles during First Day of NCAA Golf Championship
Woodstock, GA – When his first two shots landed in sand Dustin Korte should have known it was going to be that kind of day.
The Austin Peay State University senior, playing as an individual in the first round of the NCAA Golf Championship, bogeyed the first hole and then went onto finish at a 5-over 75 in Day 1 of the tournament, being played at the Capital City Crabapple Course.

APSU Governors Golf’s Dustin Korte headed to NCAA Golf Championship
Woodstock, GA - After a week to digest earning an individual NCAA Golf Championship berth, Dustin Korte is prepared to represent Austin Peay State University, beginning 1:20pm (CT), Tuesday, at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course, outside of Atlanta.

Austin Peay State University Athlete of the Week Dustin Korte
Clarksville, TN – Senior Dustin Korte, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
At last week’s NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regional in Tempe, AZ, Korte finished eighth in the 75-player field with a six-under par 204 (64-71-69) and advanced to next week’s NCAA Championship.

APSU Governors Golf finishes tied for 7th at NCAA Regional, Dustin Korte advances to NCAA Championship
Tempe, AZ – It was a bitter sweet day for Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, Saturday. The Governors failed to qualify for the NCAA Championships but senior Dustin Korte did.
Korte shot a final-round 1-under 69 for a three-day 6-under 204 to finish eight individually at the Tempe Division I Golf Regional. He earned the NCAA Championship invitation, May 28th-June 2nd at the Capital City Club/Crabapple Course in Atlanta, GA, by recording the best individual score exclusive of the five qualifying regional teams.

Austin Peay State University Mens Golf’s Dustin Korte’s 64 propels Govs to third place after Day 1 of NCAA Tempe Regional
Tempe, AZ – Playing his first NCAA tournament round, senior Dustin Korte tied an Austin Peay State University 18-hole record by shooting a 6-under 64 to propel the Governors into third place at the Tempe Regional, Thursday.
