APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Eleven Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics alumni, staff and student-athletes participated in Friday’s Summer Commencement exercises at the Dunn Center, bringing Austin Peay’s total to a program-record 94 graduates in 2017-18.

123 APSU Athletes named to OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – A program-record 123 Austin Peay State University student-athletes have been named to the 2017-18 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, released Wednesday by the conference office.

Student-athletes must have achieved a 3.25 grade-point average, were eligible and on the team throughout the competitive season in their chosen NCAA-sponsored sport(s) and used a season of competition in that sport.

APSU Women’s Basketball adds Alexis Pace to coaching staff

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Women’s Basketball head coach David Midlick has added a new member to his coaching staff with the arrival of Alexis Pace, previously an assistant at South Carolina State.

Pace joined South Carolina State in 2015 and was a three-year assistant and recruiting coordinator for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference squad under the direction of Doug Robertson Jr.

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Mark Youngs, who spent last season as an assistant at North Central College and spent nearly a decade as a head coach in the NAIA ranks, is joining David Midlick‘s Austin Peay State University women’s basketball coaching staff.

Youngs spent last season at North Central, serving as recruiting coordinator and assistant coach.

APSU Basketball alumni Tiasha Gray signs One Year Deal in Sweden

 

Clarksville native Tiasha Gray and 2016 APSU graduate returns to Swedish Damligan

Slan Sports ManagementToronto, Canada – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce that Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball legend Tiasha Gray has signed a one-year deal with Hogsbo Basket in the Swedish Damligan for the 2018-19 season.

Gray, a 5’7” guard, is returning to the Swedish Damligan where she was the league’s Most Valuable Player in her rookie professional campaign, leading the league in scoring and steals in 2016-17. This past season, Gray made brief stops in Israel and Lebanon before returning home to rehab a minor knee injury.

A Clarksville, Tennessee native, Gray attended Clarksville High School before starting her collegiate career at Austin Peay State University in 2012.

APSU Governors athletics posts best-ever finish in OVC Commissioner’s Cup

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – Behind a quartet of Top 3 finishes in Ohio Valley Conference play, Austin Peay State University’s athletics department posted its best-ever finish in the 2017-18 OVC Commissioner’s Cup.

Austin Peay posted its first-ever 100-point tally in the OVC Commissioner’s Cup, under the new format that began 10 years ago. The Governors 101.5 points pushed them to fifth among the league’s 12 members. Eastern Kentucky won the title for the fifth consecutive season with 118.5 points followed by Murray State (114.5), Belmont (111.25) and Jacksonville State (110).

APSU Women's BasketballEvansville, IN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team fell to SIU Edwardsville in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, Thursday.

The Govs came off a dominant performance against Murray State on senior night, but could not continue the offensive performance early against the Cougars.

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Rivalry weekend lived up to its hype as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team downed Murray State 75-69 in the Heritage Bank Battle of the Border, Saturday.

Energy and emotion were in abundant supply, Saturday, as Austin Peay (16-3, 9-9 OVC) faced their arch rivals Murray State (11-18, 7-11 OVC) on senior night.
