APSU Men, Women’s Basketball Season Tickets now on Sale

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics department has announced its ticketing structure for the 2018-19 season for men and women’s basketball.

Season ticket prices for the upcoming 20-date, 28-game home slate have been set to the structure indicated in the table below.

No longer will Governors Club membership levels apply; a flat fee for the general public, as well as discounted admissions for faculty, staff and military, will streamline the ticketing system, alongside new ticketing partner Glitnir.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) has announced the game times for every home men and women’s basketball game for the upcoming 2018-19 year.

For the men’s team, second-year head coach Matt Figger‘s squad returns many of the faces that paced Austin Peay to a third-place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference a year ago, including OVC Freshman of the Year Terry Taylor. David Midlick‘s women’s basketball team is coming off a season with their most wins (16) since the 2008-09 season and the most conference wins (9) since the 2010-11 season.

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Off the back of one of the squad’s winningest seasons in the past decade, Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team began its new season by having its first official practice today.

The Govs are coming off a season with their most wins (16) since the 2008-09 season and the most conference wins (9) since the 2010-11 season.

APSU Women’s Basketball releases 2018-29 Schedule

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Early-season trips to Cincinnati and Vanderbilt highlight a competitive non-conference slate which also features six non-conference contests in the Dunn Center and 15 total home games for Austin Peay State University women’s basketball, head coach David Midlick announced Thursday.

That’s part of the 29-game regular-season slate scheduled to commence November 6th and hopefully leading to the Governors fifth consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance—or better still, a banner.

Former APSU Women’s Basketball star Tearra Banks signs Contract to play in Turkey

Slan Sports ManagementToronto, Canada – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce that form Austin Peay State University (APSU) Women’s Basketball star Tearra Banks has signed a one-year contract with Istanbulgucu of the Turkish Türkiye Kadınlar Basketbol Ligi (TKBL) for the 2018-2019 season.

Banks, a 6’3’’ center, had a strong first professional season with Beroe Star Zagora in the Women’s Adriatic Basketball Association (WABA) in 2017-2018. She averaged 18.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 53.4% from the field.

Banks was named MVP of the WABA Group Stage and was selected to the Eurobasket.com All-WABA Second Team.

123 APSU Athletes named to OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – A program-record 123 Austin Peay State University student-athletes have been named to the 2017-18 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, released Wednesday by the conference office.

Student-athletes must have achieved a 3.25 grade-point average, were eligible and on the team throughout the competitive season in their chosen NCAA-sponsored sport(s) and used a season of competition in that sport.

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Women’s Basketball head coach David Midlick has added a new member to his coaching staff with the arrival of Alexis Pace, previously an assistant at South Carolina State.

Pace joined South Carolina State in 2015 and was a three-year assistant and recruiting coordinator for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference squad under the direction of Doug Robertson Jr.

APSU Basketball alumni Tiasha Gray signs One Year Deal in Sweden

 

Clarksville native Tiasha Gray and 2016 APSU graduate returns to Swedish Damligan

Slan Sports ManagementToronto, Canada – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce that Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball legend Tiasha Gray has signed a one-year deal with Hogsbo Basket in the Swedish Damligan for the 2018-19 season.

Gray, a 5’7” guard, is returning to the Swedish Damligan where she was the league’s Most Valuable Player in her rookie professional campaign, leading the league in scoring and steals in 2016-17. This past season, Gray made brief stops in Israel and Lebanon before returning home to rehab a minor knee injury.

A Clarksville, Tennessee native, Gray attended Clarksville High School before starting her collegiate career at Austin Peay State University in 2012.
