Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach Carrie Daniels has announced the addition of Dean Walsh to her coaching staff for the 2013-14 season, effective Monday.
Walsh, who was an associate head coach at Gardner-Webb last season, fills the position left vacant by the departure of Jessica Grayson last fall and joins assistant coaches Brooke Armistead and Jerome Jackson on Daniels’ staff.

APSU’s Tiasha Gray selected to Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team

Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball freshman guard Tiasha Gray was selected to the 2012-13 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team, Tuesday, in a vote of the league’s coaches and sports information directors.
Gray, of Clarksville, led the Lady Govs in assists (73, 2.7 pg) and steals (58, 2.1 pg) while averaging 8.1 points per game during the regular season.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Basketball fades in overtime to lose to Belmont Bruins

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s women’s basketball team rallied from six-points down in the second half to force overtime in its Ohio Valley Conference contest versus Belmont, Wednesday night at the Dunn Center, but the Bruins outscored the Lady Govs 17-4 in the extra five minutes of play to come away with a 71-58 victory.
 APSU senior Meghan Bussabarger scored her 20th point of the game in overtime and with it became the 16th player to reach the 1,000 point mark. APSU Women’s Basketball.

Austin Peay State University hosting final Basketball Promotions

Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University students and fans are invited to take advantage of multiple promotions at the Govs and Lady Govs final home basketball games, to include free t-shirts, free food for students and discounted tickets for APSU alumni.
When the Lady Govs host Belmont, 7:00pm, Wednesday, the first 300 Austin Peay students can take part in free food available on the Dunn Center second floor. It also is the final night of the Greek Challenge with the grand prize of $500.00 going to the Greek Organization with the highest percentage in attendance. Sigma Phi Epsilon has captured the single-game prize at the each of the first three Greek Challenge nights.
