APSU Governors Golf takes nine shot lead into final round of OVC Tournament

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsDickson, TN - Austin Peay State University men’s golf team recorded eight birdies and one eagle on the back nine, Friday afternoon, and, as a result, will take a nine-stroke lead into the final round of the Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship, being played at GreyStone Golf Club.

High Point also is amidst a losing streak. Its 68-61 loss to Chattanooga, Friday, was its fourth straight.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball heads to Chattanooga this weekend for the Dr. Pepper Classic

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – This is the 23rd Annual Dr. Pepper Classic, hosted by Chattanooga. This is the Austin Peay Governors Basketball’s second tourney appearance. The Governors reached the finals of 2000 Classic.

APSU has never played two-Utah Valley and High Point-of the entrants in this year’s tourney. APSU and Chattanooga have played 18 times previously.

Anthony Campbell named Austin Peay Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Senior forward Anthony Campbell, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Campbell averaged 19.7 points over the Govs last three games, including a career-high 25-point performance against Lipscomb, December 18th. He followed that with a 20-point night in a losing effort against Illinois State, hitting a season-high five three-pointers against the Redbirds. He was the only Gov in double figures at Illinois State.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team will put its three-game home win streak on the line when it hosts Lipscomb in a 7:00pm, Friday contest at the Dunn Center that will wrap up its pre-Christmas slate.

The Lady Govs return to the friendly confines – where they are 3-1 this season – following a disappointing 75-44 loss at Arkansas State, Sunday.
