Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUKennesaw, GA – Senior guard Tiasha Gray and junior center Tearra Banks combined for 50 points but Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team could not overcome a late Kennesaw State charge in a 73-65 nonconference loss, Saturday, at the Convocation Center.

Trailing by four points at halftime, Austin Peay (2-9) came out with one of its better third quarter performances this season.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Given her family’s history, it is little surprise that Towanda, Illinois native Ginny Gerig has decided to continue her volleyball career, signing a letter of intent with Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team, Wednesday.

Gerig (pronounced GAIR-ig), a 5-5 libero, comes from a volleyball-centered family with four sisters who played or are playing collegiate volleyball.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – A formidable nonconference slate awaits Austin Peay State University’s baseball team under first-year head coach Travis Janssen as the team’s 2016 slate was released publicly, Friday.

Just 119 days separate Austin Peay from its regular-season opener, February 19th, against Bradley. The Braves, who will play a three-game set at Raymond C. Hand Park, posted a 35-18 record last season and reached the NCAA Tournament.

APSU Governors and Lady Govs Cross Country teams have strong showing at Brooks Memphis Twilight

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men and women’s cross country teams came blazing out of the gate to begin the 2015 season at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic, late Saturday evening at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

The men’s team had an extraordinary evening as Martin Rejman broke the school record for the men’s four mile run (20:44.42). Rejman placed 21st out of 258 total runners, many of whom ran for high-level, competitive SEC teams such as Alabama, Mississippi State and Arkansas State.

APSU Lady Govs Basketball has Challenging 2015-2016 Schedule

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – An incredibly busy November will kick off Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach David Midlick‘s rookie campaign.

The newest head coach will jump headlong into the 2015-16 season with nine games in the season’s first 18 days. The slate begins with an opening-night contest, November 14th, against California at the Dunn Center – a team that reached the NCAA tournament’s second round last season.
