UT Lady Vols face Ohio State Buckeyes in NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16, Friday

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The No. 7 seed Lady Vols (21-13) will take on No. 3 seed Ohio State (26-7) in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday at 8:30pm CT/ 9:30pm ET on ESPN2.

The winner will advance to Sunday’s Sioux Falls Regional final and will play the winner of the other semifinal game featuring No. 1 seed and #3/2-ranked South Carolina (33-1) vs. No. 4 seed and #14/15-ranked Syracuse (27-7).

Tennessee advanced to the semifinal round on Sunday night by upsetting No. 2 seed and #11/11 Arizona State, 75-64, in the second round on the Sun Devils’ home court in Tempe. UT had beaten No. 10 seed Green Bay in the first round last Friday, 59-53.

UT Lady Vols Basketball plays Green Bay Friday in first round of NCAA Tournament

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The No. 7 seed Lady Vols (19-13) will make their 35th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance as they play No. 10 Green Bay (28-4) in the first round in Tempe, Arizona on Friday at 2:00pm PT/ 5:00pm ET / 4:00pm CT on ESPN2. The game is at Wells Fargo Arena on the Arizona State University campus.

Tennessee (19-13, 8-8 SEC) has been awarded a No. 7 seed in the Sioux Falls (South Dakota) Regional of the 64-team 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.

UT Lady Vols Basketball take on Green Bay to begin NCAA Tournament

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN The Tennessee women’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament for the 35th time.

The Lady Vols are seeded No. 7 in the Sioux Falls Regional and will play No. 10 seed Green Bay in the first round at 2:00pm PT (5:00pm ET/4:00pm CT) on Friday at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, AZ.

The game will be televised by ESPN2 and also carried on the Lady Vol Radio Network.

The Lady Vols (19-13) and Phoenix (28-4) will meet for the second time. The programs previously met on November 26th, 1996, with #5/5 UT winning, 71-36, in Knoxville.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Following a first-round win on opening night, SEC Tournament play continues for Tennessee when it faces in-state rival Vanderbilt on Thursday in Nashville. Tip off from Bridgestone Arena is set for roughly 3:30pm ET/2:30pm CT on the SEC Network.

The 12th-seeded Volunteers (14-18) advanced to the second round with a rout of Auburn in the SEC Tournament opener on Wednesday. Tennessee never trailed and led by as many as 41 en route to a 97-59 victory over the Tigers. Led by 22 points from senior Armani Moore, 38-point win marked the largest margin of victory ever recorded by the Vols at the SEC Tournament.

UT Vols Basketball roll past Auburn Tigers 97-59 at SEC Tournament

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsNashville, TN – The Tennessee Volunteers rolled to victory over the Auburn Tigers, 97-59, in the first round of the SEC Men’s Tournament Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena.

UT (14-18, 6-12 SEC) never trailed the Tigers (11-20, 5-13 SEC), leading by as much as 41 points in the final minute of the game. Tennessee now improves to 9-3 all time against Auburn during the SEC Tournament.

Senior Armani Moore led the Vols, scoring a game-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and adding four rebounds, five assists and a block in 29 minutes of play.

The 12th-seeded Volunteers (13-18, 6-12 SEC) head to the Music City looking to make it four consecutive years with an opening-round victory at the SEC Tournament.
