Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team won in walk-off fashion in one game, while pulling away late in the other, as they swept a Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader from Morehead State Saturday afternoon at Cheryl Holt Field 3-2 – in eight innings – and 10-5.

Austin Peay alumna, family begin new nursing scholarship

Clarksville, TN – Mary Windham was known for her nursing and administrative accomplishments before coming to Austin Peay State University in the 1960s to teach and later organize the School of Nursing.
But that wasn’t her greatest gift.

The best entertainment value in Clarksville, fans can purchase a full season ticket – a 33-game slate in 2013 – for $45.00 in person at the Austin Peay Ticket Office or by calling 931.221.7761. Fans that have purchased a season ticket or complete their purchase before January 31st will receive a baseball autographed by the 2013 Govs baseball team.

Anthony Campbell named Austin Peay Athlete of the Week

Clarksville, TN – Senior forward Anthony Campbell, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Campbell averaged 19.7 points over the Govs last three games, including a career-high 25-point performance against Lipscomb, December 18th. He followed that with a 20-point night in a losing effort against Illinois State, hitting a season-high five three-pointers against the Redbirds. He was the only Gov in double figures at Illinois State.

“My wife, Helga, and I raised three children right here in Ward 4 over the last twenty-five years.” said Redd.
At 53 years old, Wallace and his wife Helga are the proud parents of three children. Kathrene (31) is a school teacher in Birmingham, Alabama; Christina (26) is a school teacher in Nashville, Tennessee and Wallace III (21) is a senior at APSU.

Charles Hand Farm’s “Bud Barn” was filled with Friends and Family for the 3rd Annual Mickey Fisher Memorial Golf Tournament dinner
Clarksville, TN – On the eve of one of the area’s biggest golf tournaments, hundreds of friends, family and spectators packed the Bud Barn at the Charles Hand Farm Friday night to remember the late Mickey Fisher at the Mickey Fisher Memorial Golf Tournament dinner.
After food, drinks and camaraderie were shared, various items were auctioned off for charity and scholarship money as part of the third annual event.

Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club Welcomed Major General James C. McConville To Austin Peay State University

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed special speaker Commanding General of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Major General James C. McConville to this morning’s breakfast on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
The breakfast was attended by city leaders including Austin Peay State University President Tim Hall and Rotarian members from both the Clarksville Sunrise Rotary and the Clarksville Rotary clubs.
