Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans hired Shawn Jefferson as Wide Receivers coach, George Henshaw as Tight Ends coach and Sylvester Croom as Running Backs coach.

Additionally, Dowell Loggains permanently moves to Offensive Coordinator from quarterbacks (moved for the final five games of 2012), Dave Ragone will move to Quarterbacks coach from Wide Receivers, Nate Kaczor moves to Special Teams coach from Assistant Offensive Line and Chet Parlavecchio moves to Linebackers coach from Special Teams Assistant.

The following coaches from 2012 will not be returning next season: Frank Bush (Linebackers), Alan Lowry (Special Teams), Jim Skipper (Running Backs) and John Zernhelt (Tight Ends). «Read the rest of this article»

Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN - Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding rushing performance in Tennessee’s 35-34 victory at the Buffalo Bills.

Johnson rushed for 195 yards on 18 carries (10.8 avg.) and a pair of touchdowns, leading the Titans to their second consecutive victory. His 195 yards in a single game tied for 11th in franchise history, and the performance was the third-best of his career, topped only by a franchise-record 228 yards against Jacksonville (November 1st, 2009) and a 197-yard game against the Houston Texans (September 20th, 2009). «Read the rest of this article»

The two clubs, who coexisted in the former AFC Central Division from 1970 through 2001, split their most recent two meetings, including a 13-10 overtime victory by the Steelers in last year’s season opener in Pittsburgh.
