Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that Phil Housley has been named assistant coach of the team.
Housley coached the United States to a gold medal at the 2013 World Junior Championships and ranks fourth all-time among NHL defensemen in points (338g-894a-1,232pts).

Nashville Predators lose to Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1

Columbus, OH - An injury plagued, strike shortened season has come to an end for the Nashville Predators with a 3-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Predators were first to score on a Shea Weber slap shot at 8:29 of the second period, but the third period belonged to Columbus, as they reeled off three goals, including an empty netter, to seal the deal.

Nashville Predators lose 5-3 to Chicago Blackhawks Sunday night at the United Center

Chicago, IL – Nashville Predators forward David Legwand gave the Preds a 3-2 advantage over the Chicago Blackhawks early in the 3rd period. But it would not last long.
The Blackhawks answered the goal just few minutes later. Chicago went on to score two more goals to defeat Nashville 5-3 Sunday at the United Center. This was the Predators second loss to the Hawks in two days. Chicago is 4-0 on the season against the Preds.

Nashville Predators lose to the Chicago Blackhawks 1-0 Saturday afternoon

Nashville, TN - The Nashville Predators lost a hard fought hockey game this afternoon to the Chicago Blackhawks, 1-0 on a Bryan Bickell goal, that proved to be the only offense needed, in a game dominated by Chicago’s defense.
Another sold-out Bridgestone Arena watched as the Predators’ offensive woes continued.

Nashville Predators get needed win against Calgary Flames

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators returned to “Smashville” for a much needed victory tonight as the Predators defeated the Calgary Flames 5-3 at the Bridgestone Arena.
Mike Fisher scored two goals and Martin Erat, Nick Spaling and Brandon Yip had the other goals for the Predators. Pekka Rinne had 19 saves on the night.

Nashville Predators lose 4-3 to Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday night

Columbus, OH – The Nashville Predators found themselves down 4-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday night with three minutes remaining in the 3rd period.
Thats when Chris Mueller puts a wrist shot past Blue Jackets goalminder Sergei Bobrovsky at the 17:59 mark. Just 0.47 seconds later, Mike Fisher hits a backhand shot to bring the Predators within 1 with 1:13 remaining.
Buts thats as close as they got. Columbus was able to hold Nashville off to win 4-3 at Nationwide Arena. The Predators completed their five game road trip 1-4.

Nashville Predators shut-out Edmonton Oilers 6-0

Nashville,TN – The Nashville Predators returned to the friendly confines of Bridgestone Arena tonight to another sold-out crowd, and responded with a 6-0 “thumping” of the Edmonton Oilers.
Colin Wilson had a career-high two goals and two assists on his way to earning the “First” star of the game.

Nashville Predators collapse in the third to lose 5-1 to Los Angeles Kings

Los Angeles, CA – The Nashville Predators played the Los Angeles Kings close through two periods, but the Kings go on a four goal romp in the third to beat the Predators 5-1 at the Staple Center.
Jeff Carter scores three goals for the Kings for a natural hat trick. It was the fifth hat trick of his career. Two of the goals came within 19 seconds of each other in the third.

Nashville Predators get 5-4 overtime victory over Dallas Stars Monday night

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators over-came a two goal deficit to beat the Dallas Stars 5-4 at the Bridgestone Arena in front of another sold-out crowd. It was Roman Josi who scored his second goal of the night just seconds into the extra period for the win.
The winner helped the Nashville Predators end a two-game losing streak as the Predators played their 10th overtime game of the season.
