Rossview High School’s Baseball Team earns third straight Region 5-AAA final with 5-0 win over Beech

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview’s Taylor Mahowald held Beech to just two hits on May 13th – in the opening round of the Region 5-AAA tournament — as the Hawks advanced to their third straight Region 5-AAA championship finals, with a 5-0 win over the Buccaneers.

Mahowald only needed 89 pitches in his seven-inning complete-game effort for Rossview (27-10), giving up a two-out single in the second inning and a two-out single in the sixth inning – while striking out eight and walking two.

He also retired 11 straight Beech batters at one point.

Tennessee State Natural Areas Program Offers Two Mid-Winter Hikes in Middle Tennessee on January 26th

 

Tennessee State ParksNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Division of Natural Areas will host two guided day hikes at Middle Tennessee natural areas on Saturday, January 26th, including excursions to Short Springs State Natural Area in Coffee County and Virgin Falls State Natural Area in White County.

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Northeast High School’s, and ultimately Alex Poythress’, dreams of going to the state tournament were dashed in a Region 5-AAA quarterfinal game by Mt. Juliet 68-61 Friday night at the Eagles Nest.

Mt. Juliet, the District 9-AAA regular season champions put the No. 4 team out of the 9-AAA Tournament, will move on to play Clarksville High School on Tuesday at Northeast High School at 6:00pm.

Clarksville High School rips Hendersonville in Region 5-AAA Quarters; Kenwood falls to Beech

Clarksville High, the No. 3 team out of 10-AAA, will move on to play Mt. Juliet, the District 9-AAA regular season champions but the No. 4 team out of the 9-AAA Tournament, on Tuesday at Northeast High at 6:00pm Mt. Clarksville High School holds off Kenwood in District 10-AAA third-place game

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Clarksville High needed and overtime to do it, but the Wildcats held off Kenwood 70-66 in the Boys District 10-AAA Tournament third-place game Tuesday night at Northeast High School.

With the win, the Wildcats (20-10) move on to play Hendersonville (18-11) the second place-team out of District 9-AAA there in a Region 5-AAA game at 7:00pm. Saturday.

In the consolation game of Men's High School Basketball Tournament, Clarksville High School won over Kenwood High School 70-66 in overtime.

Clarksville High wins Slamfest

 

Clarksville High wins Slamfest for first time since 2001. Wildcats win own tournament over Ravenwood in championship match.

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Clarksville High won its own Slamfest dual wrestling tournament Friday with a 39-25 victory over Ravenwood in the championship final.

The Wildcats won the team tournament for the first time since 2001. Clarksville High beat Notre Dame 41-32 in its semifinal match.

Rossview took 11th and Northwest 12th. Montgomery Central did not make it out of pool play.
