Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Senior Emily Perkins, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Perkins scored both game-winning goals in Austin Peay’s victories at Morehead State and against Eastern Kentucky last week, helping the Lady Govs clinch a first-round bye in this week’s Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, hosted by UT Martin.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Junior Xiamar Richards, of Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Richards earned her first career Ohio Valley Conference Female Runner of the Week honor after winning the JSU Foothills 5K race, Friday. Her 18:39.17 run was a season-best.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Xiamar Richards named OVC Runner of the Week

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceXiamar RichardsBrentwood, TN – After picking up her first victory in nearly a year at Friday’s JSU Foothills Invitational, Austin Peay State University junior Xiamar Richards was named Ohio Valley Conference Female Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Richards season-best 18:39.17 run bested the field by more than three seconds for her third career victory and led the Lady Govs to a fourth-place team finish. The Clarksville native won last season’s KSU Thorobreds and Earl Jacoby Memorial as well. «Read the rest of this article»

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsNashville, TN – After a promising start, Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team finished seventh at 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Tennessee State at the Gentry Center.

Austin Peay State UniversityXiamar RichardsClarksville, TN – Xiamar Richards, a sophomore on the Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Clarksville native won the women’s five-kilometer race, Saturday, at the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial hosted by Alabama-Huntsville. Richards is the first Lady Gov to win an individual race since 2008, when Bertha Castillo won the same event. «Read the rest of this article»
