Knoxville, TN - The Tennessee Lady Vols held a media session and open practice period Wednesday in advance of Friday’s season opener vs. Penn.
No. 4/4 UT and the Quakers will meet at Thompson-Boling Arena in a contest slated to tip at 7:00pm ET and be streamed live by SEC Network+.
The contest will be the first between the two programs and only Tennessee’s second vs. a school from the Ivy League. The Lady Vols, who were ranked No. 1 at the time, toppled Princeton, 107-39, on December 20th, 2005, in their only other meeting with an Ivy program.
Knoxville, TN – Senior quarterback Justin Worley threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more as Tennessee pounded Chattanooga, 45-10, before 93,097 on Homecoming at Neyland Stadium. The Vols ended a three-game losing streak and evened their record at 3-3.
Worley finished the day 19-of-24 for 198 yards connected with Johnathon Johnson twice and Marquez North once for touchdowns. Worley became the first Vols quarterback with a pair of rushing scores in a game since Casey Clausen ran for a two 1-yard TDs in a 2002 Citrus Bowl win over Michigan.
Clemson, SC – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team had few answers for a hot hitting Clemson squad, falling in three sets (25-10, 25-13, 25-16), in its second match of the Big Orange Bash, Friday.
Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols, the #1 seed in the Louisville Regional, has advanced to the 2014 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, and will host Maryland on Sunday afternoon.
Tip-off is set for noon in the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville Kentucky.
This is Tennessee’s fifth-straight and 32nd overall NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, and the third year in a row for Maryland.

Atlanta, GA – Russell Athletic and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced that the commemorative award presented to the Russell Athletic/WBCA National Coaches of the Year will be named The Pat Summitt Trophy in honor of the legendary University of Tennessee Lady Vols head coach.
The award will officially be named “The Pat Summitt Trophy presented to the Russell Athletic/WBCA National Coach of the Year.” It will be the only national coach of the year award to bear Summitt’s name.
Knoxville, TN - After getting preseason preparations under way with a short workout early Monday, the Lady Vols came back on Tuesday with their first full-scale practice of the 2013-14 campaign.
Head Coach Holly Warlick is intent on her team members playing fast and giving their all on both ends of the floor. Many drills in practice are focused on just those ideas, preparing the newest Tennessee squad to meet the pace expected of the Big Orange’s second-year head coach.
Knoxville, TN - After the Southeastern Conference Office unveiled this year’s league schedule on Tuesday, Tennessee Head Women’s Basketball Coach Holly Warlick announced her team’s 2013-14 slate. UT also revealed it will retire Candace Parker’s jersey on January 2nd prior to the LSU game.
The defending SEC champion Lady Volunteers, who were 27-8 in 2012-13 and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, will play 18 regular-season games vs. teams that saw postseason action a year ago. That group includes 11 teams that made the NCAA Tournament and five that played in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
Clarksville’s Bashaara Graves nominated for WBCA Division 1 Coaches’ All-America Team and named AP SEC Newcomer of the Year
Knoxville, TN – The accolades continue for former Clarksville High School star, Tennessee Lady Vol, Bashaara Graves. Graves is the only rookie to be nominated for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division 1 Coaches’ All-America Team.
One day after learning they were a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, some key components of Tennessee’s successful women’s basketball season were recognized by a pair of organizations.
