Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has narrowed its search for a new athletics director down to five strong candidates, and the University will begin interviewing the first two candidates on campus next week.
APSU began looking for a new AD in April when Coach Dave Loos stepped down from that position after 16 successful years. Loos remains the head coach for the men’s basketball program.

Austin Peay Governors Baseball selected as 2013 OVC Baseball’s Preseason Favorite

Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will enter the 2012 campaign as the pick to win the Ohio Valley Conference’s regular-season title, as selected in the league’s preseason poll of coaches and sports information directors.
In addition, junior second baseman Jordan Hankins was selected as Preseason Co-Player of the Year. He was joined on the Preseason All-OVC team by senior shortstop Reed Harper and senior outfielder Cody Hudson.

Clarksville, TN – Season tickets for the 2013 Austin Peay State University baseball season are now on sale.
The best entertainment value in Clarksville, fans can purchase a full season ticket – a 33-game slate in 2013 – for $45.00 in person at the Austin Peay Ticket Office or by calling 931.221.7761. Fans that have purchased a season ticket or complete their purchase before January 31st will receive a baseball autographed by the 2013 Govs baseball team.

Football Govs to open 2011 at BIG EAST power Cincinnati

The Southeastern Conference, the Big Ten, Conference USA and the Mid-America Conference…Now add the BIG EAST to conference opponents Austin Peay State University will be playing in future football seasons.
In fact, Austin Peay not only will open the 2011 football season at Cincinnati (first week of September, exact date and time still to be determined), but they as well will be playing a Bearcats team that won the BIG EAST Conference in 2009 and played in the Sugar Bowl.
“It’s kind of like what Southern Miss said a few years ago, ‘go anywhere and play anybody,” APSU coach Rick Christophel said. “It is exciting to get Cincinnati on our schedule, especially considering they have been in the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) the last few years.
