APSU Baseball romps over Lipscomb Bisons, 19-5

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN -Austin Peay State University right fielder Nick Walker and catcher Alex Sala each hit first-inning home runs to lead APSU’s baseball team back from a four-run deficit to post a 19-5 nonconference win against the Lipscomb Bisons, Tuesday night at Raymond C. Hand Park.

After Lipscomb scored four runs in the top of the first, APSU (29-20) replied by sending nine men to the plate in the bottom of the frame.

The Govs enter the weekend tied for fourth place with Southeast Missouri but are in a four-team logjam which includes the second through fifth seeds in the upcoming tournament.

APSU Men's TennisNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team fell to Lipscomb, 7-0, Saturday, at the Richland Country Club.

The #1 doubles pairing of Almantas Ozelis and Aleh Drobysh had a chance to win their match, with the score at 4-5, but Lipscomb had already clinched the point, with wins at #2 and #3 doubles.

Tennessee Vols beat Lipscomb 81-71

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Four scorers in double digits helped No. 24 Tennessee to an 81-71 win over Lipscomb on Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
 
Grant Williams led the way for UT, dropping 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting to go along with eight boards and three blocks in 27 minutes of action. Admiral Schofield pitched in an additional 13 points and six rebounds. James Daniel III and Chris Darrington were the other Vols to score in double figures, tallying 12 and 11, respectively. 
 
Darrington enjoyed his most productive game at Tennessee, as 11 points, five assists and three rebounds were all season-highs for the junior guard.

APSU Soccer gets 1-0 win over Lipscomb thanks to Kirstin Robertson’s Goal

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TNKirstin Robertson‘s 53rd-minute goal was all Austin Peay State University women’s soccer needed to run its winning streak to three, with the Governors topping Lipscomb, 1-0, at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field, Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Austin Peay has now won three of four to start the 2017 campaign—the second consecutive year the Governors have won three of their first four contests.
