Brentwood, TN – Senior Chantelle Grey, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week. She shares the award with Eastern Kentucky’s Ann Eason.
Grey has been busy during the first few weeks of indoor season. The 2012 NCAA Preliminary Round qualifier in the 800m run owns the best OVC mark in that event so far this season, coming at last week’s Blazer Invite. Her 2:15.37 mark was hundredths of a second away from being the meet’s top time.

John Fraley named Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week

 Clarksville, TN – John Fraley, a senior on the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
The Clarksville native matched his career high with 25 points against Eastern Kentucky, Thursday, shooting an efficient 10-of-12 from the field. He also added 12 rebounds in the contest giving him his season’s second double-double. «Read the rest of this article»

Birmingham, AL – Chantelle Grey’s win in the 800-meter run highlighted Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team at the Blazer Invite, hosted by UAB, Thursday and Friday.
“This was a tough meet because it was a real short turnaround for us,” head coach Doug Molnar said. “We’ve got a young team and we haven’t had a lot of practice time here in the early going.”

Austin Peay Lady Govs Track and Field post solid performance at Ed Temple Classic

Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team returned from Christmas break and put forth a solid performance at the 13th Annual Ed Temple Classic hosted by Tennessee State at the Gentry Center.
Coming into the event the 1600-meter relay was the race to watch for the Lady Govs. The relay team of Sharese Braziel, Chantelle Grey, Candace Johnson, and Taelor Slaughter did not disappoint, taking home fourth place with a time of 4:04.63.
