A 17 year old juvenile was charged with Seven COUNTS of VEHICLE BURGLARY and 1 Count of VANDALISM. The juvenile was reported as a runaway on December 20, 2009. He was located on December 30th after police were given information about a possible location of the 17 year old.

Officers went to a vacant house in the area of Morrison Drive and found the juvenile inside. There was also a large amount of property found inside of the vacant house where the juvenile was staying.

Detective Larry Boren opened an investigation and was able to determine the property inside of the house was from vehicle burglaries which had occurred at several different locations between December 20 and December 30th. Detective Boren was also able to ascertain some of the burglaries had not yet been reported to Police. The burglaries appear to have taken place in the Dover Rd and Lafayette Rd areas.

The vandalism charge stems from a window which was broken to make entry into the Morrison Drive residence.

Detective Boren is still trying to identify the owner(s) of some of the property found inside of the house. Please contact Detective Boren at 931-648-0656, ext. 2309, if you feel as though some of this property may belong to you.

On February 5, at 11:15 p.m. officers responded to a call about a person being detained for breaking into a vehicle. Two citizens, Cory Bailor and another person who wished to remain anonymous, saw Hetzner removing property from inside of a 1994 Ford Explorer on Terminal Road. When they confronted Hetzner, he took off running. They chased Hetzner and caught him in an apartment complex on Cobalt Drive, holding him until Police arrived.

After Police arrived and started their investigation, they discovered that aside from entering and taking items from the Ford Explorer, Hetzner had pills, a crack pipe, and a checkbook in his possession. The checkbook was not Hetzner’s. The owner of the checkbook was contacted and he said the checkbook had been taken out of his 1997 GMC Sonoma while it was parked on Main Street. The property was returned to the owners and Hetzner was charged with burglary of both vehicles.

Daniel Charles Hetzner has a criminal history involving Burglary, Drugs, Traffic Violations and on Probation.
