APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University head baseball coach Travis Janssen filled out his coaching staff for the 2016-17 season, hiring Brandon Romans as an assistant coach and bringing David Weber on board as a volunteer assistant coach.

Romans will be the Governors recruiting coordinator, hitting and outfield coach. Weber will assist with the Govs catchers, team and camp operations.

APSU Lady Govs Basketball releases season Schedule

APSU Women's Basketball Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball 2016-17 schedule , released Monday by second year head coach David Midlick highlighted by fifteen home games.

The home slate will be the Governors largest since the 1983-84 campaign – one of three seasons which featured a program-record 16 contests at the Dunn Center. In addition, Austin Peay will host seven meetings against nonconference opponents, the most since 1985-86.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf signs Finnish junior for 2014-15 season

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Jonas Vaisanen, a member of the Finland Boys National Team, has signed a letter of intent to play men’s golf at Austin Peay State University.

The Karrby, Finland native comes to APSU after a superb junior career in his native Finland, where he was a member of the Finland Boys National Team, and Northern Europe.

Clarksville High School golfers Hunter Richardson, Megan Beane sign with UT Martin Skyhawks, Memphis Tigers

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – After finishing two outstanding prep careers at Clarksville High School, golfers Hunter Richardson and Megan Beane made their college intentions official — in a signing ceremony on November 22ndin the school’s cafeteria — with Richardson signing with the University of Tennessee-Martin and Bean with the University of Memphis.

Richardson is coming off his best year at CHS, winning both the District 10-AAA and Region 5-AAA individual titles, with finishing tied for eighth place at the TSSAA State Golf Championships with a four-over par 148 (72-76).

APSU Governors Golf finishes tied for 7th at NCAA Regional, Dustin Korte advances to NCAA Championship

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsTempe, AZ – It was a bitter sweet day for Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, Saturday. The Governors failed to qualify for the NCAA Championships but senior Dustin Korte did.

Korte shot a final-round 1-under 69 for a three-day 6-under 204 to finish eight individually at the Tempe Division I Golf Regional. He earned the NCAA Championship invitation, May 28th-June 2nd at the Capital City Club/Crabapple Course in Atlanta, GA, by recording the best individual score exclusive of the five qualifying regional teams.
