APSU Basketball comes from behind to beat Murray State 76-73

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUMurray, KYJosh Robinson knocked down the go-ahead free throw with 5.7 seconds left and Tre’ Ivory made a steal with 1.6 seconds left as Austin Peay State University rallied down the stretch to defeat Murray State, 76-73, Saturday night in CFSB Center.

The Govs’ victory snapped a nine-game losing streak in the series and it was the first at Murray since January 8th, 2011.

APSU Governors Basketball unable to cage UT Martin Skyhawks

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUMartin, TN – UT Martin exploded out of halftime with an 8-0 run and Austin Peay State University never recovered as the Governors fell, 86-77, Thursday night in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Elam Center.

The loss dropped the Governors to 10-15 overall and 3-7 in the OVC while the Skyhawks improved to 12-12 overall and 4-5 in league play.

Instant Peay Play: Two APSU basketball greats enter home stretch of record-breaking careers

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With the calendar switching from January to February, Austin Peay State University basketball standouts Chris Horton and Tiasha Gray enter the final regular-season month of their respective record-breaking careers.

Both arrived on Austin Peay’s campus in 2012, Horton from Columbus High School in Decatur, GA; while Gray stayed near home to continue her hoops career after playing at Clarksville High School.

While the pair play different positions for their teams – Horton is a 6-8 center, while Gray is a 5-4 point guard – both have helped re-write the record book, both at Austin Peay and the Ohio Valley Conference.

Austin Peay State University’s Tiasha Gray, Josh Robinson earn TSWA Player of the Week honors

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsNashville, TN – Two Austin Peay State University basketball players – senior Tiasha Gray and sophomore Josh Robinson – were named Tennessee Sports Writers Association Players of the Week, Tuesday.

Gray, who earns her second TSWA award this season, averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists in back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference victories over Morehead State and Eastern Illinois. Against the Eagles, the Clarksville native totaled 28 points, a school-record tying 13 assists, five rebounds and six steals, leading to APSU’s first road win of 2015-16.
